It was the right thing to do. If we were Muslims, maybe we would have been offended by this joke. They don't wanna offend anyone, so they wanted them to remove this joke.

I don't understand why people are offended and feel the urge to yell at everybody for it. I don't understand either why people are so pissed off by people who don't find it funny. I don't know what that joke triggers in your head. But the only thing I could think about was : people died, people still suffer because of that stuff. I saw my whole country in mourning and slowly turning into a freaking movie with cops at every corners , huge guns in the hand. For the first time in my life I realised that my country was not that safe and it scared me to death.
Now I can see why people need to laugh about it, and I' m glad they do but don't ask everybody else to laugh with them.
The only thing that really pissed me off was the "well, I won't buy your game if you're not ok with that joke, and i'll make sure my friends won't either." What a d***.

So, non-muslims being offended on the behalf of muslims? Ironically these are the people that call everyone else racists.

Anyone who has played insurgency knows that's pretty much how it goes. Before every round as a terrorist, half your team is screaming "alluha akbar" into their $5 microphones. Slightly amusing for two minutes and then I mute every one as I'm really just there to shoot people. If the devs are so offended by that perhaps they shouldn't have made a game where the terrorists fit a very obvious stereotype. Clearly the tweet echoes some feelings they as developers already have, even a little bit. So the overreaction seems a bit like when you call out that closet racist and they start listing all the friends of colour that they have. Both sides were wrong/ stupid, and it's pretty funny all around.

Remember the times when racist jokes were funny, cause less people shouted about being offended? But yeah, such marketing is distasteful and the joke is stupid.

Personally, I don't find the joke funny, but... People shouldn't get upset over something that's clearly a joke.

The text on the pic should have been simply "Insurgency: 10/10"

Much like everyone else said, some people just need to calm the hell down. If you get offended THAT easily, you have no business to be on the internet, imho :D

I bet the Insurgency team actually liked the joke, but they don't want to be associated with it due to idiots who get offended over anything.

In poor taste and not the best idea from a company but nothing to lose sleep over. Some peeps see the devil in everything so some of the reactions are to be expected. /shrug
