I had a best of cream album in the drive when I started playing it, and for whatever reason it would play those tracks I guess expecting them to be the avp cd tracks, so a lot of cream songs are now associated with gunning down aliens in dark corridors :P

(Searched Steam store, Metacritic in reverse)
While I still haven't taken the time to finish it, I'm amazed that Blade Kitten has only a Metacritic score of 52.
The game is glitchy, sure -- but it's not crashy, which made all the difference to me.
Plus it's smooth as hell, has a comic-book-ish story with tons of personality, and good stupid platforming fun (as opposed to, e.g. Metroid, which would be "smart" platforming fun, it doesn't really matter how you get through the levels in Blade Kitten).
I haven't read any of the Metacritic reviews for it, so maybe it's just anti-furry people freaking out about it being about a "catgirl". If that is the case, in this instance, to me that's like freaking out about Mickey Mouse.
Also, I've only played the demo (or was it a free weekend? I can't remember), but how does Post Apocalyptic Mayhem have only a 44 Metacritic score?!... Seemed like a solid, if repetitive, game to me. I assume multiplayer must be broken somehow?

Guys, don't forget Blood. It has a metacritic score by 82% by the way, so I think that it can't be put on the "Crappy Games" list. I just mentioned it because it got lower scores by the critics (compared to Quake) due to the outdated graphics. To me, graphics or not, it'd deserved more. Backing in topic, I mention Duke Nukem Forever, not the best game of the world, for sure, but I liked it and didn't regret my purchase.

Same as you with Alpha Protocol- great game with even greater potential.
As for me, I would add Pirates of the Carribean: the Curse of the Black Pearl(this wasn't exactly movie tie-in, as the game was already in advanced development as Sea Dogs 2)- you give me action-RPG? On Carribeans? With Pirates? Triple win! Too bad Akella didn't do much to improve formula(hell, they made it worse) in Age of Pirates series... Plus the cancellation of promising Armada of the Damned... Aaargh, me wants some pirating!

I'm with you man! Warriors Orochi series got best mechanics in series in my opinion!

Alpha Protocol is awesome, I don't care what critics say.
Hellgate: London was a load of fun with friends, but you had to look past some very obvious flaws (seriously, why fuck up the class I want to play that badly? An engineer with no working drone and a useless final bot skill? Damn you!)
Rise of the Argonauts. I REALLY needed some time to warm up to it, but then I loved it.
The same with Too Human - I liked it, but if you can't get into the setting, you're boned.
Gauntlet - Dark Legacy was mindless fun with a friend, but I couldn't play it alone.
Currently I very much enjoy Rise of Nightmares for its campy setting. Seriously, the game is a beautiful grindhouse tribute that got panned for all the wrong reasons.
EDIT: Also Duken Nukem Forever and Manhatten Project.

There IS something really entertaining about that first time you drive towards a bridge... and end up falling through it. lol

Too Human! I heard the game was going to be make for Xbox but took so long to develop that it ended up on Xbox 360. They also said it was going to be the first installment of a 3 part trilogy but after seeing how bad sales were they decided to stop at part 1. I loved this game despite how bad people said it was, it was also the first Xbox 360 game I own that I have earned all achievements for. I put in over 300 hours in this game because once you learn to enjoy it you will find it very addictive.

Batman Dark Tomorrow for xbox 1. It has a metacritic score of 25 and I loved everything but the final boss fight.

And by Crappy i mean games that got terribad reviews and general lowsy critics.
For me, Alpha Protocol has to be on that list, despite the laughable stealth mechanics and hilarious animations, i admired how the story develops based on what you do, and how the relationships between you and your co-workers develop.
Also, prepatch Hidden & Dangerous and prepatch Vampire The Masquerade (bloodlines was enjoyable with or without any patch).
Name your underdog favourites!!!
