This behaviour should be stopped.

I know, private giveaways are more appealing, but we should always be grateful and respectful to others. What do you think?

Spamming is bad behavior. Noticing that someone is spamming is a weird thing to call being a dick.

He was being a smartass. That's simple. If someone wants to create a topic saying 'Hey, I'm going to be creating this specific giveaway. Watch it if you want to!', then it's their business. It's not spam at all.

Unless I completely missed the point of this thread, in which case... I'll stop posting.

It doesn't have anything to do with how appealing or unappealing the giveaway. It has to do with the fact that there's no need to post about a public giveaway, everyone can already find them.

They're only rude when it's a thread about a public giveaway for Night Sky but if it's a public giveaway for COD Ghosts everyone starts kissing ass.

Well I feel like it comes off as Spam, imagine if everyone made a topic for every public giveaway, it would be terrible.

This is exactly how I feel about it.

That being said, I do take it easy on people who make their first giveaway and post it on the forum. It's a big deal making your first giveaway and a lot people don't give away anything, so I say let them enjoy that moment.

Thats fine I guess, but I feel it should be common sense to not do that, idk...guess the first times not to bad a move.

At the same time, a new person really should lurk a bit to get an idea of the community before posting a new topic. That isn't just here, that's with all forums. Every online community has its own sense of what is good to post about and what isn't and the easiest way to learn that without making a fool of yourself is to lurk and read the posts others make before making your own. That's just common sense practice and a first step to being accepted by a new community rather than ostracized.

Should they lurk before posting? Yes, absolutely.

But there are far worse spam threads out there and it doesn't state anywhere specifically that they shouldn't post "public" giveaways on the forums. They might not even know the difference between a public giveaway and a private giveaway. At the end of the day they're giving away something perhaps for the first time in their life and I'd rather say thanks for your contribution with some clarification, instead of "Not another one of these threads...."

It's a minor issue, but I like to be careful when dealing with new people. Especially if they're showing their face on the site instead of leeching.

Because really, it could fall under the rule of "If you would like to include some self-promotion in the chat or forum, please run it by a mod first." A private giveaway being posted here is different because those links aren't something someone can just stumble across on their own on the main page, so not really promotion.

honestly, ive seen quite a lot of horrible attitudes here so far in my time on this site....im a newb...only been here a week or two..
but ive noticed that on both sides, the leeches and the gifters....theres a lot of people with bad attitudes...

this site is about GIFTS...in the first place....but yet, theres this s00p3r d00p3r ub3rl33t 3p1c portion of people who are so high and mighty, that the thought of letting people in who dont have a CV equaling hundreds of dollars, into their giveaways, repulses them..
well now, that isnt exactly just gifting now is it???? if youre acting this way youre obviously not here to be charitable...because youre cutting out those who would need a free game the most....if someone has gifted out hundreds of dollars worth of games, they arent in need of something free in the first place really....not saying they shouldnt be here(to clarify)...

and then of course, you have those who get mad when they dont win....or cry and whine about it, like theyre entitled to it.....

also....Bundled games not giving you any credit to your CV....thats a bit douchey IMO also....
regardless if it was from a bundle, someone is still giving someone else, some random stranger, a game that they want, that they wouldnt have otherwise....some sort of credit should be given for it....
i can understand the system and why it is in place, but it all just reminds me of my all so high and mighty country the United States where the 1% get whatever they want and access to anywhere, while us lowly peons gets the crumbs and scraps...

my random 2 cents...

awaits for people standing on pedestals to comment with 'blacklisted', and 'another ones bites the dust', and many more extremely witty elitist comments

Are you aware of how much that doesn't make sense? Also how untrue it is? My CV says 380, I probably spent under 70...but apparently I can buy any game I want using your logic....

The Bundlelist is active because of abuse, not sure how you can compare that to the 1% in America(Where I live btw and struggle with money).

Sorry if I came off harse but you aren't making much sense to me...I would not Blacklist you btw...

not harsh...at least by not comparison to my post...my post is a bit harsh, so i expect harsh replies....

"Are you aware of how much that doesn't make sense? Also how untrue it is? My CV says 380, I probably spent under 70...but apparently I can buy any game I want using your logic...."
nowhere did i say that they would be able to buy anything they wanted....what i said is, those who DO have, block those who DONT have, from accessing lots of giveaways...if it wasnt for the fact that theres people who who dont care if someone else has given, there wouldnt be giveaways for anyone who cant afford to gift...
putting a 1 cent CV on it, i can understand..just to make sure its not a complete leech entering....but why put 300 dollars? and 600 dollars and such? what is the point? if you/ve got your CV up like that....then youve donated quite a bit, which also means, that your game library is probably pretty sweet....and then you only want to let in other people whos library are pretty sweet lookin as well...
it just craps on the little dude is all im saying....it locks them out....but thats not to say someone with a massive collection of games cant have a low CV...also thats where my America comparison belonged, not under the part about the bundle...not sure how i got it all mixed up when writing it....

i realize why the bundlelist is active....but, it screws the legit folks as well..i wound up at this site because i had a bunch of bundle keys....i bought two bunbldes, was 20 games...i only bought them for 4 out of the 20....so i handed out some keys to close friends...then looked for an outlet to give them to someone.....
theres plenty of people who would appreciate the hell out of those keys regardless if they came from a bundle...
but this system makes it discouraging to post them, when theres no acknowledgement of you even giving the games away.....its like, why even use the site??? might as well just toss them out randomly, as i wanted to avoid in the first place...

but...i imagine it all stems from a history of people taking advantage here....and i can understand how its all fallen into place...
but it still comes off douchey, and lets the assholes ruin it for the good folks like everything else...

new people do not understand that, or they just want to have more people in the giveaway. Either way, there were people who actually got all aggressive because of a public giveaway posted on the forum (they were not even sarcastic, just pure hate and contempt in what they say in those threads).

And that's where the mods came in, no pitchforks are needed when we have a full team of surveillance to ensure we have a healthy forum (though once in a while things like operation antijadethefalcon come up...ofc it's just all fun and stuffs, nothing serious)
