i thought the map packs were worth it. i think the enemy that shoots at you and the map mechanic where enemies walk through teleporters get added through the map pack(s). also, you get double the available maps by adding both map packs.

I don't have the packs so I can't vouch for them myself, but I think you'd be just fine without them. The big changes like new weapons and towers were all made into base content at some point (After I bought them, lol) and those were really what was worth chasing after. If all they are is maps I wouldn't worry about it, but if they somehow add mechanics then it may be worth a look into if the price is right.

I've only played the first one so far (got the second, but by that point I was so burned out on the game that I haven't actually played it yet), but if you like the base game, they're worth grabbing. Maps in Sanctum last a lot longer than in your average TD game so there's plenty of bang for the buck, and the new maps do some interesting things in terms of forcing you to adapt your strategies for obvious (teleporters, bounce pads) and subtle (line of sight, vertical axis) changes that can make a big difference in terms of what works and what doesn't.

I wonder what happened to the weapon dlc that they had. Did they disappear, or did they go free? They're still listed in my dlc list...
