I recently started a subscription, because I wanted to get Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and I wanted to check the games in the Trove. Steam games are easy because of the reviews, but I don't know about the Humble Originals. Any suggestions?

Unless you REALLY need to save space on your computer, you could always download as many of them as you can once you have your subscription. After all, as long as you have an active subscription, they're free and there's no limit to how many you can download (or how often you can download each one).

I thought it looked good. Is it that bad?

My thoughts:
The conversation during the drive builds up an interesting narrative, but it ends far too soon, leaving a vague and unresolved lack of cohesion. Perhaps this early conclusion is intentional so that all players can better relate to the hitchhiker, but ultimate it is a poor design choice that just makes the game feel incomplete.

The game could really use some expanded conversation options. One or two choices feels inadequate. The game would also be vastly improved with divergent story paths.

I enjoyed Thor.N and 2000 to 1: A Space Felony. They are both short, however. Thor. N in particular is very short. That to me felt more like a demo than it did a full game. Still, what there was of those games was enjoyable and suitably atmospheric. Certainly worth downloading when you have access to the Humble Trove if you have any taste at all for those sorts of games.

My personal favorites, ranked:

  • 4 THOR.N - It's a FPC: First Person Clicker. Not sure if it's good, put it's unique enough to give a try.
  • 3 Hitchhiker - Not really a game, more like an interactive story experienced while riding around in a pickup. Kind of neat.
  • 2 Ollie & Bollie's Outdoor Estate - A really cute physics puzzler. Nice and short.
  • 1 Wilmot's Warehouse - You, Wilmot, are solely in charge of running, organizing and filling orders in a warehouse. How you do it is up to you. I love it.

Honestly, none of them are worth the space or time it takes to download but I can only speak about the ones I tried and I gave up after about 20 games tried and that's only 50% of the "humble originals" so that may not be a fair assessment.
Those were the ones I was curious about though. They felt more like demos or concept than games.
