Apperently these are not real but rather created/reconstructed with data from NASA

Edit: It looks awesome nonetheless

Aw, that's a disappointment. I thought the clouds were removed and they simply zoomed in - which is why this surprised me so, because, seriously, this kind of landscape is magical.
Turns out it actually was. :P
Still, doesn't make it less beautiful I suppose. :)

Thanks for sharing! I've been looking for good night photos from space for a long time...
I think there's a software that replace desktop background with earth images (lights, clouds, night shadows and stuff with everything else).
Once formated PC, never found it again... :(

Our time will come soon
Also I found this "Making of" and wonder where I can watch the movie D:

What would be cool is if NASA (or whoever) took images from their huge database, combined them together so that we could actually get entire bits with no clouds.
Anyhow, the topic title reminded me:
Why are bee-keepers considered to have the most gorgeous eyes?
Because beauty is in the eye of the bee holder.

I just needed to share this with you.

This, apparently, is real. The only thing that has been done is removing the clouds.
