Ace of Spades: Better than expected

I absolutely think the critics fucked up on this one.

I love the game, have been playing it for ages, had serious lag at the start, but then realized I was playing on the wrong servers...

Really, really good, imho.

Not amused.

I tried to play it, but the lag was horrible. It may have been my crappy laptop, my campus's crappy interweb, or something else, but I'm probably not going back to Ace of Spades for awhile :/

Isn't most of that 14k from the free weekend though, not really a good indication of the players actual base

I was hoping for better. It wants to be both TF2 and Minecraft but manages on none. The levels are far too large, servers too laggy, matches too shortcreation/destruction too slow etc.
Also, first match I played, I was in team with a sabuteur who ruined the match totally.

I think that game is pretty cool. If I had money I would buy that game. For me 8/10

I heard that the consensus was that it's a good game, but it's bad compared to the original, and that's where the hate comes from.

I've been playing this Free Weekend as it's a game I kind of desire. I won't be buying it. Not that I didn't enjoy it, as I did, but as Oxol had mentioned there's just too much wrong with it. The maps are far too large, and that's not an issue in itself - the player limit is just too low. Either make the maps smaller, or let more players in.

Building is unique in that if you destroy the foundation the entire thing comes crumbling down, but also to Oxol's point, it's too slow. It's not very intuitive and having fixed pieces makes it difficult to place - as you have to find either flat land, or somewhere they'll "fit."

Again, it's a fun game, I enjoyed the couple hours I put into it - but it's not enough of either genre. It's just a generic shooter with limited building aspects thrown in. In the matches I played, building was hardly witnessed except to be pretty in the middle of the map or to try and get higher if the player didn't have a jetpack. It was rarely used to be strategic.

I enjoy the game. I don't really get much lag either. I play on US West servers, and always have the lowest ping. Favorite Class: Sniper. Favorite Gamemode: Team Deathmatch. The think I dislike, is that it takes a long time to get from your spawn point to the action. I'm not one of those people that just sits there are waits for people to come to me. I considered getting the DLC, but there are other games I want more that are the same price.

Just stick to the beta version, way more interesting.

The game is fun; however, no matter what zombie mode server I go on there is lag.

Funny to see that, but this game has better demolition than in Battlefield 3 hahahha, seriously.

Played since alpha loved it, it runs worse now, more lag etc. however every other part of the game have improved therfore i think the superawesome xD

The game is owned by Jagex and i like the old ace better also after purchasing the St. Valentines DLC yesterday i find them maps and modes dead with no one playing except for the standard base game maps and modes
