Spend $12 so the children can have $0.60? I'm not so sure. ;)

I might have considered it, if it accepted PayPal, where I have enough cash.

12$ for a full bundle? And they say "classics" will be there which I'm sure means basically repeats especially for someone who buys most bundles. Pass. I'd rather spend that 12$ on Apple Music subscription cause my free trial is going to expire soon.

They say that the games are "unbundled"

Where does it even say any are unbundled? I don't see it here anywhere, nor on the front page nor in the list of questions in OP.

I'm a little confused. First bundle will be released tomorrow? Also can we subscribe then immediately cancel to get Grimrock 2?

6th of November

I think the first one will be released on November 6th. You get Grimrock 2 instantly after subscribing. Even if you cancel immediately it means you have already paid 12$, you will get the bundle when it is released and grimrock 2(instantly). They have a 36 day countdown(Subscribe before November 6th to receive the next bundle.) on the site, I assume they won't release any bundle tomorrow.

November 6th! I think they mean by "Friday" is that the bundle will be released every first Friday of the month ... (starting November)

Ohh, I misread it. I thought the 35 was 35 hours until the bundle releases, not 35 days >.<

I am totally against blind purchases and am not really fond of giving my credit card information on a subscription based scheme... I'll pass.

What about DRM Free?

I'm assuming that Humble will provide DRM free versions of the games. They usually do... for most of the games anyways.

D: honestly i don't see a problem. I mean most people do pay 12 for some of their bundles as it is. And hey it might be shit or it might not be but eh don't judge it till the first one comes out. It might surprise you.

Dollar currency is actually VERY expensive in my country... they should at least tell us how many games will be bundled per month =/

Permalink

They only said around 5 games. Just have to take a chance since they are being secretive about it.

It's veeery expensive for a "humble bundle"...

Question is, can we expect hit on quality of regular bundles? It's pretty obvious that most exclusive titles will go there first.

Not much of a problem. If the regular Humble bundles will suffer competitors will pick up the slack.

Double digit price for a gamble of random games?
Nah, I can buy 2-3 good games with $12 if I wait for sales - games I know I'll actually play.

12 bucks a month for a mystery thing. Unless we see some sort of sign of quality, it's a risy thing for those who are picky about their games. It doesn't help that some people don't have 12 bucks to toss every month.

No paypal is a reeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalllly hard bargain. :(

I like paypal cause i have a log of my spendings. CC however throws your budget into a void; monthly bundles without even knowing what i would get would sink me into an even deeper void. That really hurts. Sorry, @rachellove, just sharing my thoughts.

Also, i don't like how "old classics" are communicated there. Like how old? will that be a hit classic? Skyrim could be called a classic nowadays.

Maybe this'll work if those 5 games in those first months are all at least very - overwhelmingly positive on steam.

My dear, why are you sorry? I make these threads so YOU can express your thoughts. Never be sorry for your opinions! I appreciate you sharing.

I Agree though, not having a paypal option available for this one really hurts sales, if people want to buy the monthly subscription anyways.

But you are always free to share your thoughts. My threads are open to venting, crying, yelling, anything <3

Why not? Everything is possible, someone already said that the video sword is very reminiscent of the sword of transistor game and the person in the background reminds me of that game.

I would imagine not just the first, but the first couple will be awesome, since they'll need a good showing for the big dev houses, but also to get people into the idea - make $12 look like a steal. And then, over time, quality will taper. But saleswise, since you'll already be paying the money anyways, it'll be easier to self-justify the payment,. The hook's already in, so it's easier to drain the cash.

Blind purchases make no sense at all, to me, and a blind subscription even less so...

  • huge backlog? check
  • chance of duplicates? check
  • many genre i'm not interested in? - check

Also, I can't imagine anything but a drop in quality of the traditional bundles; it's pretty obvious that this new monthly will get the "1st draft" of the nicest titles, otherwise subscribers will get pissed off and non-subscribers will have no incentive to do so

It's a neat idea, but I still prefer the normal bundles where I can see what I'm buying. 12 bucks a month is like netflix + a couple beers and that's a better investment to me at the moment. Also, they are probably shooting themselves in the foot by not supporting paypal. I rarely give my CC information to sites due to all these database hacks over the years (Stripe is awful and regular denies purchases on valid cards).

I'm down. At $12 even if I have a couple of the games I'll just give 'em away here. If I were to trust any of the bundle sites with this sort of arrangement it would be HB for sure.
