:(
that's pretty normal around the internet, as far as i know the secret is don't quit, DONT STOP! BELIEEEEEEEEEEEEEVIN'!
don't worry, you will be a sloth some day :D

Congratulations on completing your work, but the sheer volume on content on the internet makes in incredibly difficult to get people's attention, let alone feedback. There are millions of blogs, and much like talking about one's dreams, they're rarely as interesting as people hope.
Just keep plugging away at it and find your niche.

Thanks! I thought that making a blog about video game translations would be a very fine niche but apparently it is not. Well, it seems I have to keep on trying. Perhaps changing the formula would help, like adding some reviews or more general entries...
Well, for now I shall take a little break, maybe I'll come up with something refreshing. Thank you for the comment! This will keep me motivated :)

Its a nice niche, but it may be too narrow of a niche. I imagine that having experience doing it with a variety of games will add a lot of color to the blog as well. Have you ever tried analyzing a professional translation? My language skills have never been good enough to really try, but you could try looking at what some other people have done, either Polish-English or English-Polish. Maybe you'll come across a game that has an especially poor translation and be able to offer your services.

Wchodzę w tego giveawaya ;) Jeśli wygram, dam znać jak wypadło tłumaczenie!

Ależ spoko :D Co do tłumaczeń, nie trać ducha. Sam kiedyś zajmowałem się spolszczeniami, wiem doskonale jak trudno jest, żeby ktoś zauważył robotę, którą odwalasz. Jak już powiedziało wielu ludzi w tym wątku, klucz to być upartym ;)

Polish is unsupported as I have sent all the files few days ago. There should be some beta-testing before the update goes live, so I can see how it looks like in-game and then make improvements if neccessary. Maybe in two or three weeks it will be on :)

Thanks a lot! Shame about the Mousecraft :( That's the worst part about translating indie games: finding ones that have multiple language support and devs willing to add another language. But when you get into a project, it's getting really fun, so I think it's worth it. Have you contacted Among the Sleep devs? I think they were working on a Hungarian translation.

The time when I was up to volunteering for Mousecraft, I had a load of free time.
Now I spend ~10 hours at my job all weekdays so I am not sure I have enough free time to do it. Though you piqued my interest so I might write them a mail.
cheers

I would check out your translation, but the few words I know in polish is from ragers in League of Legends. Yep... I don't think I could do too much with "kurwa" :D
It's still quite a deal, that you started and finished a job that can make someone's day better and the game can reach more to more people. This is an achievement that shouldn't be undervalued.

Oh, how are you able to figure out some words (apart from reading English entries and comparing them of course)? Another slavic language speaker? :) Be careful though! Some words, phrases or explanations might be ommited in English version of an entry, so it's not 100% the same.
Anyway, glad to see you enjoying it :) Thanks a lot!

Well the Game Trailer looks pretty well translated! I read entry 8 from blog and the guns seem already in english, Sludge Cannon was fine but Toxic Cannon is more comprehensive for a broader audience, same goes with Quick Rifle and Carbine Rifle.
All in all, I hope this will help you a lot with your resume!

Congrats on your work but you have to learn to not expect anything from anyone because you will get disappointed most of the time

Good luck for your passion, it's not really easy to open a blog and create your "fanbase", you could have awesome content, but if the blog is "hidden" or not user-friendly, etc... you'll end saying "no one cares", carry on my wayward son :c
p.s. I can't argue about writing style or grammar, but i would try to change that white, try to find another eye-friendly color, that looks more comfortable and maybe try to use more space, you are barelly using 1/2 of the page :P

Hey, thanks for the suggestion! I'm not sure whether it helped but I changed aesthetics slightly (having non-premium account sucks, uh, I'll have to take care of it in the future). And about using barely 1/2 of the page: I don't know how to fix it :D I think it's just design I'm currently using. Besides, I don't know how about the others but I like it, it's rather clean and simple. If that's a huge problem that I will think about it and try to improve it as well. Anyway, thanks for the tip!

For over a month I've been working on a minor translation project, i.e. English-into-Polish translation of a small game called Vintage Year. For quite a long time I hadn't translated anything, so I was really glad when someone finally answered my calls. Since I'm not a professional and my target are indie game devs, it was rather a volunteer job; no gain apart from an entry for my resume. Nonetheless, I took the job very seriously.
I had decided to make a blog, so I could write about my job as a translator, about all the projects I have and will work on. I had some visitors, views and even likes, so I thought that I have some publicity, people who are interested in what I am writing and read me from time to time.
Unfortunately, it turned out that nobody cares about it (or at least not as much as I had thought). I made a small giveaway to celebrate completing my work, hoping that someone would win the game (and maybe even leave some feedback regarding the translation?). And nothing. Nobody even tried. And so I decided to share my bittersweet tears with you guys! I'm sure you'll be enjoing that.
Have fun!
