Steam holiday auctions and trading cards: what should i do?

Here's the situation: this holidays sale i'm pretty sure i'll don't buy nothing because i'm not waiting any game in particular and although i don't have much money to invest in videogames right now. but i have a bunch of trading cards in my inventory from my library games. i was thinking to sell them during the sales, hoping in a badge crafting rush like past sales. but this year valve introduced auctions, and now i don't know what to do to maybe earn something more than usual...do you guys think is better to sell them now or during the first minutes of the new auctions round on the 15th? or maybe it still worths waiting for the badge crafting rush?
