Acer V3-772G. Here it costs ~700€, has a GTX 850M so you can play games at high quality without issues, 17" display, an i5-4200M and 8 GB RAM.

Are you sure it's a GTX 850M? 772G comes with 7xx series of GPUs.

I have this one and it has never disappointed me so far. I've been using it since almost 11 months every day without any problems. It's still very good for recent games :)
Edit.
Just checked and yea - there seems to be 2 versions of that or something. Mine Acer V3- 772G has i7-4702 MQ 2GHz up to 3.2 GHz and GT 750M.

Well I have bought a slightly older version of this laptop. It has GT 750M instead of GTX 850M, other than that it's the same. And I got it for 475€ from an actual local store, with 1 year warranty. I have it since April this year and I've had absolutely no problems with it. Don't see the reason people hate Acer. I also put an Samsung 840 mSATA SSD and it's blazing fast. Windows 8.1 starts up in 7 seconds.
It's also not bad for gaming. I mean I get 50 fps in BF4 on medium settings at 1600X900.

I don't get why Acer gets so much hate either. I don't have bad experience with both (well, one broke but I think almost 6 years is quite the long run for it). They never gave me headaches and random bugs. I'll try and look for an older version of this model to see if I can get a good deal for it.

My Acer laptop's screen broke. They're made of pretty cheap plastic, and replacing that by hand was a hassle. On the other hand, they are actually cheap (inexpensive).

Looking at Lenovo's site, they seem pretty decent if you needed a laptop on a budget.
I have a Toshiba myself, but their laptops can be pretty pricey if you're looking for one able to play newer games.

Games --> You need an actual graphic card (so not just Intel HD/IGP). CPU: be an i5 or i7.
Most important criteria imho: Display: Glare or non-glare. You decide. Glare seems to look somewhat better/more colorful, but most of the time you don't see anything except your surroundings (so when your room has a window or you want to use it outside, you better look for non-glare displays). Also IPS if possible budget-wise. Otherwise TN. 1920x1080.
Highly recommended: SSD.
Ever want to actually use it mobile? Better get one below 17 inch.

You can control the heat via a good Cooling pad :)

I see that there is less power consumption compared to the other one. I see it is a Haswell chip. Based on what I've read about them they are mainly less power consuming that Ivy Bridge. Which make them a better choice for laptops and long battery life.

Hey mate, just remember, whatever you buy, also invest some money in a good cooling pad based on the heatsink of your new laptop. Trust me. Heating is not good for your laptop, because laptops aren't actually meant for gaming. So get a cooling pad, and you won't have much problem :)

I would recommend never buying used laptops or computers. I've had a bad experience with used items, maybe the device has problems that weren't stated, such as overheating, and other problems. Plus who knows what they did to it, for all you know there might be dried cum on the samsung logo.

Seems good, but the you should go for the i5, though if you wanna keep that laptop for a long time, I recommend buying a cooling pad.

Thank you all for the advice and recommendations. Since I couldn't find a better offer than the one for the Lenovo B5400 I've ordered that. It even was 50$ cheaper :)
Hi there!
I've not been that active in the forum (not so social) but I try my best.
So today I had a phishing attempt - it was quite amusing given the fact that the link was full with visible distinction between it and the real steam.community site. I've tried to amuse myself with a little chat with the fellow but no response. I might have given him something.
So on my question. My laptop died (probably the motherboard from what i read and tested). So i am looking for a new one. I know a PC would be better but for now a laptop will do the trick. I have a budget of around 600$ Might go a bit higher but not higher that 700$. I've looked around and cat seem to decide.
Looked at Acer, Asus and Lenovo as I hear good things about their laptops. Yes, I want to be able to play games on the laptop but I'm not looking for maxed out settings, also browsing and watching some movies but that is cleared by mast anything :)
PS> Will post some models that I've looked up when I find them in the history :D (looked at quite a lot this morning). Oh, and sorry for the wall of text.
Have a nice day.
TL:DR Looking for a laptop - around 600$ could go to 700$ max. Used for browsing internet, movies and games.
EDIT: I found 2 models that interested me in the morning: Asus X550CC-XX209 and Lenovo G50-70. They are vety much the same - i3, one has nvidia 720m the other Radeon R5 M230 both 2GB. Asus comes with 8Gb of ram, 4 for Lenovo.
EDIT2: So I've found this one: Asus K550LNV-XO351D. It has Dual Core i5-4210U 1.70GHz/2.70GHz, 6GB DDR3 1600 MHz, 1TB (1000GB) 5400rpm SATA, NVIDIA GeForce GT 840M. Any ideas on that or other suggestions?
