Just an idea that slips through my mind reading the discussion: There are too many post produced everyday and I think that with a upvote/downvote function of comments our reading experience will be a lot more enjoyable (cause everything should be about fun right xD?). But I suppose I am not wise enough to see the downside of it and that's why I would like to see your opinons :). I am busy for exam recently so wouldn't be able to reply to everyone but I will make sure I read every comments here!

Thanks for your output and here's a small Train.

Should an Upvote/downvote function added for comments?

Bad idea. It'd only create more drama, which this site certainly doesn't need. There's already enough drama as a result of being able to see our whitelist/blacklist ratio. I know that some users here enjoy the drama though...

Absolutely no. If it ever, I mean ever, would be implemented, I would leave without thinking second time.

I actually like this idea. Could possibly help with blacklist drama too. Right now many people are using blacklist as a downvote button, but if there were actual buttons for that, possibly they could get their emotional release from that, and not BL others for petty reasons.
But more importantly, it will give people a way to support or show disagreement to someone in non-personal and anonymous way. Now when someone posts something controversial, we will not know what the community actually thinks about it, because very few of us dare to speak their minds, or just don't care enough to get into the drama, or are just too lazy to type. I think it would help us to understand what's really going on much better.

Nope, downvote is a form of censorship and would VERY quickly ruin the quality, scope and diversity of topics. It's what happened on EVERY network that has included downvote (like Reddit, which became as a high, free and even exclusive quality platform, before being ruin by political correctness, censorship and apology of stupidity and ignorance).

No downvoting, just upvotes/hearts/points. And no "sort by upvotes" either, that would discourage from reading the entire thread :3

WE NEED MORE LOVE IN OUR LIVES! ♥

Slightly off-topic: Reddit downvotes get a lot of hate here. I dunno. What's the difference between minusoneing someone and telling someone they are bonkers? Only convenience, in my opinion. I generally try to never get into negative discussions on the interwebz, because I don't believe it's worth it. One click is all I am willing to do to correct the wrongness, ignorance and/or rudeness of semi-anonymous users. ^_^

At first I thought: No, we don't need that.
But after a bit further thinking it could actually be useful. But ONLY upvoting, not downvoting. This way normal votings can be done easier, like nomination threads and all that with the "+1" spam...
