I remember something similar in Dreamfall Chapters. There was a kind of competition in which you could submit your original music for a chance to be in the game as background music. They had to cancel the competition because of critics. Generally is a bad idea asking for free work.

Ah, thanks for letting me know this, just looked up the criticism over the Dreamfall music submission. Well, good points there, I can see how professional writers could say that this is the same case, get a few lines of books and titles fast, for free. Still, I think that with the content so small, this can go better.

The creators of Thimbleweed Park are putting a huge library in the game, where the players can explore quite a few books. Books, that are need to be written, and so they are counting on anyone with a creative vein to submit a small book excerpt with title and two random (or not) pages from it.
