Sorry I don't have a recommendation, but everyone talking about Contrast makes me want to check that out.
You don't have much playtime on HL2 - did you ever play that all the way through? I loved the middle sections.

Bump and meow for backlogs.

Well you give me every impression of being a thinking (casual) gamer. If you enjoyed HL1, then I recommend HL2, and if you want something more cerebral I highly recommend the original Deus Ex.

It took me 4.4 hours. One achievement requires you to complete the game in less then 30 (or 45?) minutes. So it can be dull if you didn't do it from the first try (I didn't). The other are ok. Well, I'm back to bed :)

You can complete 3 games for a week. They are: "Contrast", "To the moon" and "A bird story". They are very short, but with the good story.

I recommend you play the witcher 3, then jump into a time travel pod when you finish it, cause there's no way you'll get that done in a week :D
Congrats on the house, good luck!

I was just kidding, it's a super long game. Though i do recommend it when you will have more time, i loved it. Besides, that's a lie, you gave out tons of good games :)

Oh, you have Dark Scavenger! That game is such a HOOT! If you haven't played it yet, that's a nice short one, and very entertaining. Monster Loves You! is along the same lines, but a different kind of humor.

The story portion of Nihilumbra is about two hours long, and it's SO GOOD! It gave me "the feels" for certain!

Both of the Brink of Consciousness and Enigmatis games are excellent, if you enjoy interactive hidden object games, and like most casual games, can be finished within a few hours. Sacra Terra: Angelic Night turned out to be MUCH more than I had expected!

I would love to hear what you think about Deadfall Adventures -- it's on my wishlist!

Freedom Fall is GREAT fun! Sadly, it's very short, but you can extend the fun by going for all of the achievements.

I really enjoyed both of the Hero of the Kingdom games, but they're more than a few hours each (unless you don't care about the achievements, and the achievements are what make them so fun!)

Knock-knock has a great ambiance to it -- It doesn't make much sense, but you get a feel for what you're supposed to do eventually :p

Obulis is a really well-done physics-based puzzle game. (That was an excellent buy!)

YOU OWN SOME OF MY FAVORITES AND HAVEN'T PLAYED THEM YET!!! These can't possibly be finished in a few hours, but to me, they're MUST-plays:

Tomb Raider (2013)
The Walking Dead (Season 1 and Season 2)
Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Origins (in that order)

and here are a couple I recommend adding to your backlog:

ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West
Tales from the Borderlands

Oh, and PLAY MORE FAEVERSE ALCHEMY! XD

+1 for Batman: Arkham Asylum! It's a very good game (no matter you like comics/Batman or not). Around 15-20 hours to complete main story
EDIT: "How long to beat" says even less.

Both TWDs are like 8h each, and worth every minute. Best to play them both, so you don't forget what happend in 1st when playing 2nd

+1 to must-plays and additions!
I personally think that Telltale's adventures is one of the best things happened to the game industry over the last years. Also, it takes about 10 hours to finish any of them.

And about the games.... This war of mine was a surprisingly good game so I voted for it and Talos is the next one in line for me to play, can't wait to get stuck on a puzzle :P

Man.. Student.. a few of those game on your list will take you a while...
Sakura sprit can be beat with just 1 hour if u speed thought the dialoge...
Ethan is also pretty short.. so you should be able to beat it quickly..
ToZ is okish length but u must prepare for it.. since Boss battle takes forever unless you buy the cheat dlc.
Remember me is short unless u going for different option and endings...
A couple I don't know but i would advise playing valkaria last.. that game is hard and will take you forever even with guide.

Good Luck on your quest Student123.
Hope you enjoy your new home sweet home.
I've beaten 52 of 303 possibles, i'll try to get up to 60 by the end of the year. :]

I'd also recommend you to play both half-life expansions, blue shift and opposing force, if you liked half-life, of course, and portal, all 3 should not take you more then 15h.

A bird Story is short and needs very little interactions with the game. It'll be good to play when you don't want to play hard. The story is still heartwarming.
I recommend Limbo among the listed ones. It's basic 2D puzzle platformer with the unique dark atmosphere. I liked the balance of the game when I could reach the end before the puzzle became too hard for me.

I am playing Valkyria Chronicles now, and I know you like some anime,so I think you would enjoy it ^^
You can beat A Bird Story in less than 1 hour (seriously, it was pretty disappointed after having played To The Moon), so I don't think it should count..

You won't. It will easily hit 20-25 hours on main storyline alone on first playthrough and can reach up to 35-40 if you will get into side quests and skirmishes. Pretty awesome game, but may be not right for the challenge here.

You can finish Sakura Spirit in 2 hours tho ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Tough choice! Really keen to pay Talos, Zestiria and Pillars. Nice idea for a giveaway, Student. And I guess this must be one of your first giveaways ever, right? ;-)

Good luck with the move on Friday. Can be a stressful time. Remember your properties: pc and internet set up first and foremost! Yeah seriously hope it goes well. I spent the weekend looking at new apartments, planning to move next spring!

I voted for Remember Me, Partially because it is actually in my backlog of games that I still need to play and complete, but I think it looks like a really nice game and just when I for the first time saw the trailer I thought I must play this when I can, I honestly have no clue on how many hours it would take to finish the story as I intentional avoided spoilers other then the trailer. I know it isn't the best reason for you to play it first but hey figured I might as well post it :) Congratulations on your place, hope you'll enjoy it there :)
