Thank you.

Just made it! I played:
Ghostwire: Tokyo: Achievements "Conclusions".
Shady Part of Me: Achievements "Me".
Eternal Threads: Achievements "Saviour".
Metal Unit: Achievements "Negateve".
Milky Way Prince: Achievements "SAVIOR".
The Occupation: Achievements "The Miller Report".
By the way, I voted for the "extend" option, but for selfish reasons: it's very unlikely I'd be able to take part on 1-month ones starting this month, so...
That being said, I think the event would probably work better as it is now. In any case, do what's best for you! And thank you very, very much for giving me an excuse to try new things.

Another suggestion for the poll: 4 month the regular 6 games per month, followed by a 2 month thing, and repeat. That way we have it twice a year a longer one, and some shorter shots for the rest.
Eeeeh, I guess that is what you meant with Bi_annual. Forget what I wrote, there is my vote.

On par with past events. As for ease, it was same as usual with folks joining last minute :p. Normally, it is not an issue, but last week was a bit busy with work and I lost track of time :/.
Comment has been collapsed.
Well, I'm part of the PoP group as well, and it took me about 7 weeks to get through my 7 games.
The only difference is that they are specific chosen bunch of games, two of which took me over 40hrs to complete.
With this event we get choose our own games and length.
I think alternating between the one month and two, but may be more work than it's worth.
Solely every 2 months? Means you don't spend as much money, and less work for you as well. Win-win?

GhostWire Tokyo - Jun '23 - 60hrs(-DLC) | Beaten - 64/66 | Getting Infamous/Batman vibes. UPDATE: 60 hours on: this is a collectathon with some missions added. Wouldn't really recommend it to the average person |
Dropped - 2/44 | Dropped for now. Really don't like the style of combat, and not understanding the mechanics of this game which are poorly explained. Maybe I should have played Shadow Tactics first? | |
Life is Strange 2 - Apr '23 - About 20hrs | Not Started - 0/46 | ??? |
Demon Turf - Mar '23 - About 35hrs | Not Started - 0/40 | ??? |
Biomutant - Mar '23 - About 45hrs | Not Started - 0/46 | ??? |
Five Dates - Feb '23 - About 6hrs | Completed - 15/15 | Varied Characters. Well acted. Could imagine dating one of them in real life, and one even reminded me of my ex. Would've liked a 4th date / extended play. |
Shady Part Of Me - Feb '23 - About 7hrs | Not Started - 0/16 | ??? |
Monster Prom 2 - Apr '23 - At least 30! | Beaten - 13/49 [All 7 successful Dates] | I now remember why I never 100% the first game - it's grindy, and choices are often nonsensical. |
EDIT: since we only have one month, this is an epic fail! only 2 days to beat 3 games.
Comment has been collapsed.
For just the playthrough on normal difficulty it would take less than half of that for sure - there is only 3 missions plus 3 short interludes. I lost a lot of time on Hardcore difficulty and doing second playthroughs because of badges. Also I'm not good at the genre, Shadow Tactics was my first introduction to it, never played any from Commandos series or something similar before.

Haven't played any cRPG / isometric RPG so far, but I'm always for trying some new genres. That was the case with visual novels, and now they are one of my favorite games for their interesting and unusual stories and weird characters. So good that I wasn't bored "playing" them in front of my PC, and now that I got Deck that will become much better experience.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm fine with either, except maybe if it's a 2 month, there are 2 different games as the prize (rather than 2 copies of the same game).
I'm open to it, though it will leave the possibility open of someone being very lucky and winning both prizes.
Comment has been collapsed.
Assuming a winner feels the same about both prizes, this would encourage them to wait till the last moment to submit their entry and join the giveaway with the fewest entries. Nothing wrong with this, but I would rather avoid it since I cannot guarantee I'll get everyone in such a short time frame.

Entering challenge again, thanks for organising <3
Gave myself a bit of a Tomb Raider theme this month.

Last Day of June | March 2018 | Started: June 20th / Finished: June 24th | The End. See the epilogue. | Pretty artstyle. Went back to get two achievements that I missed. |
TOEM | December 2022 | Started: June 25th / Finished: July 2nd | Experience TOEM. Photograph the TOEM phenomenon. | Swapped in a few shorter games, as all the games I had in mind to play were 15 hours ish and did not think I was gonna make it whitin the challenge time. This is a shorter game, that has been on my plan to play list for quite a while already. |
Tohu | December 2021 | Started: June 10th / Finished: June 23rd | Happy end. Complete the game. | Lovely art style and cute little story ^0^/ |
Tomb Raider | January 2018 | Started: June 11th / Finished: June 14th | A Survivor Is Born. Complete the game. | A classic that I never got around to playing before. Was fun. Planned on getting all collectibles, but got a bit tedious in the end so only got 93% collectibles. Will never get 100% achievements anyways as some require multiplayer. Some of Lara's decisions/actions are....questionable, but I made do lol. |
Rise of the Tomb Raider | September 2018 / October 2017 | Started: June 14th / Finished: June 19th | The Price of Truth. Finish the game on any difficulty. | Quite liking the Tomb Raider series so far. Getting a bit distracted with side content. Also boats are quite buggy in this one, which was funny to watch. |
Shadow of the Tomb Raider | December 2019 | Started: June 21st / Finished: July 2nd | Quite the adventure. Finish the main storyline. | Quite enjoyed the Tomb Raider games. This game was very pretty and had me lost in side content. Quite content, was a fun experience and I explored a lot of the game. Took me a bit longer than I had anticipated to finish though. |
May still change the games around, but motivates me to state a few to get started.

As for the format, I prefer the one month long event and it looked like there weren't that much more participants during the extended one, so hopefully this won't be the last shorter one. If the two months long one wins the polls hopefully we still get shorter events too, the Hybrid events seems like a good compromise. Thanks for the events :)

✔️ Hybrid alternating is a good idea i think
It's a good mix that allows you to empty your backlog and make longer games too, I like it.
And for this month:
I really liked the last two. I highly recommend them ;)
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm all for variety! Not only 1 Month / 6 games or 2 Month / 6 games but occasional 1 month / 10 games or going into different direction: 1 month / 3 games but the games must be >40h on howlongtobeat. Or even completionist challenge where you need to 100% 4-6 games. Or play 4-8 games but they must be from current month Choice bundle.
Due to family and health reasons this month I need to play Diablo 4, so my six games will be on the shorter side.

---|---|
Bendy and the Dark Revival / May 2023 bundle / Started on June 23d Finished✔ on July 1st The Master's Pen | Before playing: Lol, I'm bad with horror games, and the older I get the more pussy I become. I'll probably won't finish this challenge 'cause I'll be dead from a heart attack. After playing: Boy did I misjudged the game's genre. It's barely a horror in the first hour, then it develops into some exploration/puzzle game with boss fights. And It's all very ambitious, they tried many things and I'm not sure it all worked together nicely. I mean, they have post-game museum for their characters, most of them appear for only one scene with little impact. |
Shady Part of Me / February 2023 bundle / Started on June 11th / Finished✔ on June 17th Me | Before playing: I expect a short atmospheric puzzle/platformer with some gimmick. Pretty sure I'll get exactly this and it will be okey. After playing: Neat easy puzzles in a pretty artful presentations. The emotional conclusion of the game missed me: too of new-age therapy. I remember how "Braid" was of all things about atomic bomb. Well, that was a necessary "huh?!" moment that "Shady Part of Me" lacks. |
Emily is Away <3 / August 2022 bundle / Started on June 9th / Finished✔ on June 26th Evelyn Ending | Before playing: I hope the game is more than a 2008 nostalgia trip. Because it's clearly not about "The Dark Knight", and 2008 was good only for "The Dark Knight". After playing: The whole Facebook aesthetic and high-school drama didn't raise anything in me, simply did not have any major connections to my personal experience. So It is all played out for me like another one typical visual novel. Ended up being a cuck, oh well. |
Five Dates / February 2023 bundle / Started on June 25th / Finished✔ on June 27th We go again | Before playing: I'm very skeptical about FMV genre. First of all: these games wear their limited budget on their sleeve. You know, the subtlety between "done cheaply" and "cheaply done", that indie creators sometimes miss. After playing: Nice acting! And the game choices on the fly fit naturally. I know that re-doing the dates would expose "seams", but on the first try it was like "I was there", a cuck on the wall. |
⭐Backbone / December 2022 bundle / Started on 22nd June / Finished✔ on June 23nd Act 5 | Before playing: The game is described as "Furry detective visual novel with mixed reviews and bad ending". By sheer coincidence you can also find this line in my reference letter from my previous job. After playing: Damn, I loved it! Many people seem to be upset about the ending. And I am not going to be a snob about it. I admit, it's fairly rushed with many blank spaces left for "imagination". I suspect, the developers simply run out of budget to flesh it out better and they are probably counting on a sequel to retrospectively transform current "messiness" into dramatic setup. I hope, they will make it. They are clearly full of talents and I want more from them. |
INDUSTRIA / September 2022 bundle / Started on 21st June / Finished✔ on June 22nd The end is the end is the end is the end is the end | Before playing: Steam reviews are literally saying "don't waste you time on this game". Also they say, that you can beat the game in 5hours. So the time be wasted but it will not be much. After playing: The game is clearly unfinished! I don't mean only technical aspect (it's badly optimized), artistically it's not complete. INDUSTRIA is like a pilot episode of a not picked up TV show, like a first few chapters of the book where the rest is burned in the fire. And it's beautiful like that. |

I really like your format with your thoughts before & after playing. That said it looks like you're not particularly looking forward to most of your games this month. 😛
About Industria: I did not feel like my time with it was wasted. Consider it an indie experience with a little bit of Half-Life vibes.

I was looking forward to try Death Stranding, but Diablo 4 be damned! (Got unexpected Nvidia code for the game with a new GPU).
Nevertheless this month I'm betting on "pleasant surprises" or even "surprisingly awesome" 😀

mh new Choices are 8 games now, but 8 in one month would be too tough for most people so why not 8 in 2 months? :D
And it would be great if very long games count as 2 or so. Many people don*t have that many short games and playing multiple Death Strandings in one/two months is imposibble.
Comment has been collapsed.
While I like to see your topics pop up every month, it's rare that I can participate.
Between my standard backlog (I'd count PoP as an event here as well) and my attempts at SG wins, coupled with my stupid mood swings already makes it hard to pick a game and get to its end.
There are tons of good games from monthlies, but as I bought most of it, I have very few SG wins that qualify. Participating in such an event generally means I have very little time for other games - wins, and games I actually paid more than bundle-money for - and is not something I can keep up for long without feeling bad about it.
I voted for a hybrid system as it changes between a 2-monthly system that makes me entry easier, and a standard month which is how you imagined the event, and gives better chances for others - regardless that I'll very likely unable to join most of them.
Comment has been collapsed.
Just do both! :P
Joking apart, I'd like to participate once in a while, so the extended format would be ideal for me. But I understand that there is a good bunch of people who can beat 6 (or even more) games in one month and they are the ones who kept the event alive up until now. Their opinion should matter more than the one of a casual like me. So I think a good compromise would be one of the hybrid options, but I'd go with the bi-annual format, or tri-annual at most (1-1-2), not more.

The two month events would be more convenient because I can already pick out a couple names, including mine, who participate in PAGYWOSG and POP. I buy the HB monthlies for specific titles I'm interested in but rarely do I actually have enough to qualify since I either don't have the games or they are all too long to be played in a singular month.
Moony's suggestion for 8 in two months would be fine if long games counted for 2, but then again that's similar to what POP does with an extra point for completing the game to 100% and these are two separate events who probably shouldn't blend in together too much, since POP and PAGYWOSG already share a discord server.

Chaos!
As for the poll: I liked the current design, but with more time for the games more people would maybe try longer games, also you would save a bit of money.
I personally like the 1month/ 6 games and maybe would go alternating, but not a pure 2 month/6 games
And of course with a Final Fantasy GA, I have to join this month.
I amr ather busy this time, so I have to see if I can manage, probably with a bit shorter games.

I like the extended format because it allows for broader participation and gives an opportunity to knock off some of the longer games in our backlogs. It also has the added benefit of reducing your workload. On the other hand, I'm concerned that it might dilute the challenge. I voted for "Hybrid alternating" which seems like a reasonable middle ground.
Here's an idea: If you do decide to go with the extended format, make it 8 games/month or 6 games/month with the extra stipulation that two of them should have a howlongtobeat time > 20hrs. Participants can select one of those two options when submitting their lists.

I've been checking the event for a good while, but haven't gotten the chance to participate that often. With that in mind my vote is bit meaningless but I still voted for the extended version. I can see the appeal in a hybrid set up, but personally I like when things are consistent so you always know that it's two months and don't need to check if it's a different time frame or not.

My wishlist probably doesn't have many suggestions for single prizes, but I have loved when you've done 2x smaller games!
What's the preferred way for us to suggest games as prizes?
This is dependent on the community wishlist. I do favour AAA games since they tend to be the most popular ones, and I'm slightly biased against smaller games. The reason for it is because I'm worried they will get bundled sooner rather than later, and I would like the prize for these events to be unbundled for as possible.

That totally makes sense, I didn't even think about that!

Copy pasta of copy pasta of copy pasta of copy pasta of copy pasta of copy pasta.
Hello and welcome to the madness!
The challenge is simple: Play and beat any 6 games, starting today, that have been featured in any given Humble Monthly/Choice bundle in one month.
The prize: STRANGER OF PARADISE FINAL FANTASY ORIGIN
Game length does not matter and I'm not looking for 100% achievement runs. So long as you play and beat 6 games, I'm happy. You can go easy mode and play a bunch of 1h games or go crazy and play 6 +30h games. So long as they were in a monthly at a given point, it is all good.
Just post a comment with either screenshots/ achievements showing that you fulfilled the criteria and I'll add you on Steam and give you the link. Feel free to share your thoughts on the games you've played, but it is not required.
FAQ:
Why you doing this?
I hate money. That and I realized I've been subbed to the monthly for over seven years (yes it has been that long, I checked) and it occurred to me that I've barely touched the games I've gotten from it, let alone played them. Figured the same would be true for a few others, so I figured this is a good way to change that. A sensible person would probably unsub in this situation, but please refer to the beginning as to why that will not happen.
I've played the first X minutes of a game, can I pick it for the event?
No. You cannot have any play time or achievements prior to the start of the event. The only exception is idle time from farming Steam cards.
Can I play a MP only game?
No. It needs to have an "end" in order for me to count it as beaten, so it needs to have a campaign/story mode.
If a game was sold as a non-Steam copy in a bundle (origin/uplay/drm-free/etc), can I pick it as a choice if I own a Steam copy?
No. The reason being that those who own a Steam copy would have an extra option that would not be available to everyone who bought the same bundle. If the game was originally sold as a non-Steam copy, but Humble later provided steam keys to everyone who bought the bundle, then the game would be allowed.
Why six games?
The first few monthlies had 6/7 games in them so I went with that.
How long are you going to do this?
Until my credit card statements gives me nightmares.
This event "ends" on July 4th when the next next HB Choice releases, though the giveaway itself will end the next day. If you manage to finish game number six in between that time, feel free to post, but know that I cannot guarantee that I'll be able to give you the link in time.
Good luck, have fun and stay safe.
Thanks for reading, and I may have forgotten to edit this part, but you can't prove it anymore so Happy Pride :D..

P.S. Been going through some feedback left from last month, hence the poll. I'm open to extending/retooling the event if increases engagement, but this is event belongs to the community, so I would rather you guys decide what you want from it. I just have the privilege of paying for it ;-;. :P
P.P.S. Sorry for the late thread/invites. Work has kept me busy :/.
P.P.P.S. You guys need to add more games to your wishlist. Didn't give me a whole lot of options to work with.
