What's the best Tomato Game on Steam?
Hahaha. I never would have solved it, but that is brilliant! You must have so many spare keys sitting around to be able to find so many to fit your hints!
Thank you for the puzzle. I'm looking forward to the next one, though I probably won't solve it either. :-)

Yeah, I buy a lot of crappy bundles... Doesn't seem to be any point making giveaways for them, it's just garbage for the +1 people... This way I don't have to fool around, just dump them and say goodbye... :)
Puzzles are too much work, someone should make an automated puzzle-creating bot... :) Then I could just paste it the keys, and it thinks of some dumb way to connect everything for me... :)
Good luck! :)

Oh, that's not a puzzle, that's a puzzle.... :) Not a good one perhaps, but usually I'm too lazy... :)
Good luck in the next one! :)

I suck at puzzles, so thanks for the explanation!
Juicy bump!

Any explanation to your explanation?
I'm not salty (even if i may sound as one) and i have've not seen your thread until now when giveaways are long over.
How were we suppose to guess that we need exactly two characters from only first row of first 3 batches. And that we need last 2 characters from first batch and 2 first from other 2 batches. Where was indication that these are the ones that we were looking for? There were plenty of keydrops where i could easily spot my name, my dogs name and even my card ID. It's as random as everything else. Especially for big amounts of "random" data.
And how would anyone who didn't play the game, that you are giving away, know that these are names of characters from that game?
Only that NEARRA part would indicate the game although it's almost as random as PAPA40 from there.
Second giveaway was totally random guessing work too. Picking right combination from big collection of random strings, without any key, that could be deciphered in plenty of ways using different algorithms, methods and combinations can be as logical as creating matrix from these characters and calculating its determinant and using it as indicator of some random webpage that its sourcode first letters could contain characters needed to create giveaway code.
Once again sorry for complaining but i'm allergic to guessing work.

Ahh, sorry, but I think there's been some sort of misunderstanding... :) These NieR:Automata giveaways weren't intended for a random person to get a pointless +1 and some trading cards. The other "Tomato Game" giveaways are for them. :)
I think NieR:Automata is a great game. Unfortunately, it's kinda expensive right now. Not everyone can afford to buy a copy. :(
So, people who have been reading about the game, watching friends or internet people play it, checking the store page for a sale - they know the names of the characters. Maybe they have even heard the "near a tomato" joke somewhere. The silly itstoohard puzzle giveaway is for those people. :)
The second giveaway, the one from the ascii codes, with no hints or pointers? Like you said, it's not logical, and you could find anything you want in those keys. I'm probably hiding a dozen other giveaways in there without even noticing it. Maybe you could call it umm, conditionally convergent?
Anyway, that one's just a bonus giveaway for people who may not care about the game, but like staring at leftover bundle keys. I'm always hiding things in leftover bundle keys.
If I had made a NieR:Automata itstoohard trivia question "puzzle" people could just google the answers. Even people who don't want the game can use google for profitz... :) This old puzzle had several solvers for the trivia question parts who'd never played Dark Souls, but were skilled at figuring out stuff on the internet. :)
Anyway, I agree this could have been done better, but this way there was a good chance someone who actually wanted to play the game would win it. :)
So, to answer your question, you weren't supposed to guess. Some people knew the answer instantly, but many others had no idea, and (almost) no chance to figure it out. Some stubborn ones stared at those keys until they got a lucky brain wave. It's not really fair. I'll have to do better next time... :)
If you don't like random guessing, this was a recent puzzle on the theme of "hiding things in numbers" that wasn't quite as arbitrary... :) And as for hiding things in leftover bundle keys, this is an example, but it's too much work so I try not to bother with that sort of thing too often...
Really, I'm too lazy to make puzzles any more. It ruins a whole weekend, plus the next week you're replying to comments in the giveaways and don't get to play anything yourself. Oh well.
Thank you! :)

I understand and really appreciate your puzzles. I exactly know how much time it takes.
Indeed i have never ever heard anything about the Tomato thing.
I'm from the kind of people that when they know that some game is awesome they refuse to read anything about it so they get all the fun from getting all the knowledge about it by playing it themselves.
Metal Gear Solid is the series of games i've recently rediscovered (I've played only demo of the first game years ago on PSX because i couldn't afford any games at all until recently) and last week i've bought whole collection without checking anything about them, after about 18 years of skipping all the info that would spoil me literally anything from the game. Only thing I needed to know if they were good or bad. Right now i've just finished MGS1 and started playing the second one. And i'm seriously happy that nothing affected the fun i've got from it. All these eastereggs i discovered by myself, all of these different approaches to the same tasks... These are what make a great game even greater to me. Discovering everything by myself.
I'm always heartbroken when i find a puzzle that requires knowledge from the game i would love to play. I refuse to do such puzzle even if have to give up on wining it this time.
Once again thanks for your efforts \o

Hmm, dunno what you didn't see, so I won't be much help... :(
Hmm, if you're wondering how people were supposed to solve that puzzle, umm, there's no way to explain it. Some people randomly got lucky, most people didn't. Sorry. :)
Thank you! :)

Umm, there's no way to find it. Maybe if you noticed the other batches holding something, you'd also think hmm, what about these other batches, and stare at them long enough to notice a repeated pattern in both of them. Seems a bit far-fetched, though.
Most likely you'd decide this is dumb, and life is too short... :) Most people did... :) Sorry! :)

I saw it but quickly realized it was level 6 so there was no real need for me to try :D I was honestly curious where the ASCII thing was since I can't find it even after you revealed the solution. I'm happy for the person that won it, she's actually a very nice person and probably will play the game.
Edit: Ok, I found it but you'd need to be some kind of god to find that. It's only partly repeated once, to whomever found that legitematly...

Ahh, look in the two batches of keys that weren't hiding any 2B, 9S, A2, or "near a" - there's a "64 6f 6b 59 37" hiding in them. No, there's no way any sane person would be expected to find it:

One last edit:
Ok, so there was one new Near a Tomato giveaway hiding in this most recent batch of leftover bundle keys.
Also, just for fun there were Pink Floyd lyrics on the first and last characters, it didn't mean anything:
thereisnodarksideofthemoonreallymatteroffactitsalldark
andthetimeisgonethesongisoverthoVghtidsomethingmoretosay
- there's no U in Steam keys, sorry about that.But the double-struck i.e. funny-looking characters spelled out
maybethesekeysarehidingonemoretomatogiveaway6541343134
--> "Maybe these keys are hiding one more tomato giveaway 6541343134" --> 65 41 34 41 34 -> eA414 --> One More Tomato Giveaway. The was no secret encoded in the position of those funny-looking characters, that's just where they ended up. If you have enough Steam keys you could certainly use that method for something in one of your own puzzles! :)Thanks for playing, and good luck next time! :)
Yeah, I forgot to explain where the tomato giveaways were hiding. Sorry about that.
But first, for the people who don't care about explanations, here's some junk I was too lazy to make a puzzle with:
Bayonetta, Level 3
Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, Level 4
Gal*Gun: Double Peace, Level 5
House Party, Level 6
I had more stuff in my cart, but the Humble Store didn't want my money until after their Winter Sale had ended, so that's all you get. And you thought Steam support was a disappointment? Oh well...
Ok, time for the puzzle explanation? Hmm, yeah. But before that, since nobody reads explanations, why not race the bots to redeem this fresh batch of consolation bundle leftovers:

Ok, guess that's enough stalling. If you really want to know, I cleverly deleted my notes for this puzzle, so umm... Let's see if I can remember... Fortunately it's not a complicated one or I'd be screwed...
Hints and stuff were hiding in the keys. The first batch had 2B, then 9S, then A2, then NEARRA, then some ascii thing, then NEARRA, then some ascii thing again, then NEARRA, then NEARAA. Anyway, NEARRA / NEARAA were supposed to give you a hint to the itstoohard thing, i.e. Near A Tomato. Ha ha. If that didn't work, 2B, 9S and A2 are characters in the game, which means if you already owned the game you probably got it right away. And if not, umm, I dunno. So, http://www.itstoohard.com/puzzle/Vc7KnXax -> https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/e7TVU/nierautomata - hooray!
The ascii thing was hiding the second giveaway, i.e. 64 6f 6b 59 37 -> dokY7 -> https://www.steamgifts.com/giveaway/dokY7/nierautomata - dunno how you were supposed to notice that. Guess it was a dumb puzzle...
Good luck! :)
Original description:
What are you doing? Making another dumb puzzle? Guilty... :)
Turns out reaching "Level 10" on Steamgifts accomplished nothing. I couldn't find the secret clubhouse, the "Click here for a free pony, courtesy of cg" button, the cake, or well, anything. Guess I should have used that money to buy gift copies of removed games for profitz. Sigh...
Sooooo, since making giveaways would be pointless now, how about making a dumb poll instead. Everyone loves those! Screw giveaways! And don't forget all those memes and things. You can't go wrong with that crap.
And, to distract you from the puzzle, here's a pile of leftover bundle keys! Parentheses to slow down all those clowns with their thousands of bots...
Oh, and all of them are sure to be used before you notice this discussion, so don't waste your time looking at them!

Good luck! :)
p.s. Umm, don't tell anyone, but I've never actually played any of those Tomato Games. If you have, and want to talk about them, that will let me disguise bumps as replies to your comments, so that's cool. :) Just don't expect me to know anything about the games... :( Maybe I'll check them out over the weekend, though... :)
