My opinion:

  1. Origin: Nice and clean interface, speed, cloudsave for all games, ea support (yes true), *refunds, if i had the option to transfer my steam games there...

  2. Steam: the biggest game store, clunky-ugly-boring interface, some unnecessary social features, good support but really slow.

  3. Uplay: Some nice features like achievement rewards to unlock stuff in game like: soundtracks, wallpapers, weapons, etc but i dont care. Support never replied to my ticket.

I never tried Desura.

I created that discussion to post you opinions. I feel somehow weird using steam, interface never changed all these years and gamers need a better ui, we are not in 2000 anymore...

EDIT: GOG not included in the list couse its a 100% drm free service.
EDIT: UBI please remove the requirement of uplay on steam.

EDIT(28/02/2015): After a week, here is the final ventrict and the winner: STEAM with 700+ votes.

I'm a penguin so I'm bias by Linux compatibility. Choosing from your list, I would have to say Steam is my "most_liked/least_hated" currently.
Steam and Desura have native Linux clients (although Desura's is kind of buggy atm), Origin works OK with Wine, UPlay does not work with Linux at all.
I'm anxious to try GOG's Galaxy client, but I haven't been able to get the Windows version working with Wine yet and they haven't put out an alpha or beta of the Linux port yet.

Does it stop me from playing my single player games when their service screws up? If yes, it's bad. If not, I don't care. The provider is irrelevant to me.

Its hard to argue with years of amazing Steam Seasonal Sales. Although I don't really have anything against the other digital game sites/services. In the end, I'll use whatever service to play the games I want.

ORIGIN: The Origin Great Game Guarantee: If you don't love it, just return it!

Origin has amazing customer service. Other then that. steam is better in every other aspect. I like origin just that the features it lacks are the issue. steam has horrible customer service. they give you canned answers and rarely do you speak to a real person.

I choose Steam, but only because I have so much invested in this account and currently, Steam is the leading platform for online PC gaming. I am very dissatisfied with how Valve is handling Steam, however, and I have many complaints about their recent changes, their services, and their priorities as a company. I used to be a big fan of Valve, but now... I'm just disappointed.

The fact that my games are bound to my Steam Subscription and they are DRM-protected only makes matters all the worse.

I REALLY LOVE BATTLENET CLIENT DESIGN OHMYGOSH.

If steam will be mooooore faster, I don't know, I don't have a wooden pc or a slow internet connection, but I think Steam Store / Community it's a little bit slow...+ battlenet client design + Origin Support + each country with his own currency it will be my fucking dream.

*about currency, I live in Romania and we don't use Euro like the majority countries in EU and games are very expensive for some of us.

Origin - no user reviews, client a bit bulky, not many games
Desura - terrible interface, plenty of mediocre games
Steam - sweet user profile page, in home streaming and big picture mode, awful customer service and game optimization
Uplay - will never buy a game that uses this memory-hog bloatware, even less games than origin
GOG Galaxy - nowhere near ready yet but i can't wait, will be nice to keep their games updated; drm free, well optimised compatibility,
30 day money-back guarantee, poor 5 star review system

Steam #1 Many games, many sales, the only service IRL friends of mine use.
Never used Desura.
I hate Uplay for the need of being online to play single player games + the fact that if u buy Ubisoft games on steam u have to run Uplay like one DRM isn't enough.
Origin: I live in Belgium, I'm dutch but every time I log into origin it changes the language to French. Common problem here known for over 2 years & still not fixed, but I like the free games they give away.

I want GoG Galaxy when it comes out. I don't really like any of these listed. But I'll vote Desura, they give indie artists a chance.
