I know I still have two games that haven't shown up =[ from the last event lol I dunno if I'm the only one or if there are others.

"Easy pinks" ... ah, color-coded trash talk you will only hear in SimGives. :)

my System Shock GAs are still not released -.- OPriginally they were announced to release at end of 2016, got postponed to "Holidays 2017" now postponed to not-specified time in 2018 -.- And there was clearly stated release time when I made this GA for the first time - doesn't matter, clearly stated release time can always be changed anyway ;p

I'm still waiting on three. I'm not doing unreleased games, this time. P

I might do an unreleased game, but only because I can gift it as a steamgift and that person can keep it in their library. I'm not doing the whole 0 points things, there will be points! Though it might be awhile before you get the game if it ends up being pushed back. I'm looking at you Fractured Butt Whole, and Vampyre.

Wish I could enter, but funds would be lacking, and gifting would be a pain in the arse from NZ.
Nice to see this return, even if limited.

I'm wondering the same thing about gifting from the US. I have a lot of keys and a few possible steam gifts from the old successful inventory system for some extra padding I guess.
I agree too! Nice to see this one pop up again. I thought it might be the end...
I hope you're doing well over there, regardless!

I would help you out with the delivery, but I feel you on the "limited funds" thing. Perhaps the situation will be improved for Summer? We'll see.

I'm up for a SimGives event, but I'd rather be a Guest Gifter, this time around. (I have plenty of games, already.) I don't yet know how many giveaways I'll be making, but three "pinks" seems like a worthy goal.
P.S.(The new Rules List and FAQ look good. Am I supposed to be able to read them if I've been kicked from the group?)

Guest Gifters are usually people who want to contribute giveaways to an event without participating themselves. They are invited to the group to create the giveaways, and after creating they either leave again or just don't participate in the event in any other way.

^ What he said.
Basically, I'd like to contribute a few giveaways, but I am not planning on entering any myself. Also, no Compensation Round for me, please. As I said, I already have enough games.

I'd up-vote you if you were applying. Congratulations and best wishes.

Me?!? I should have about $11 - not enough to buy all my herbal meds with even, and beyond!
That's plenty to get everyone a bundle trash AAA game chance in the group.
Still disabled - still don't get crap for working 24/7 365 with no vacations until I get well. If you've had the flu for a few days or a week, you know what I'm talking about. It's work trying to get well! At least resting used to help it.
Soo anyway, disability funding is limited, but I find a way to make stuff happen!

My time to join hasn't come yet but, in the meantime, I wanted to show you this in case you've missed it.
It's related to the
There should be no giveaways for the same game (so that people can't win the same game twice, but multiple copies cause no problems).
rule, and I think allows for multiple GAs of the same game, which could be nice.
If you want to continue having all different games instead, just forget about this and sorry for wasting your time ^^;
Comment has been collapsed.
Nope, it clearly says that
It also works for giveaways ending at the same time.
I think the only way to double win a game now is if you manually enter a GA for said game after you've already won it.
Thought that could have been a possibility, that's why I've also added that last sentence =P
Comment has been collapsed.
You cannot manually enter any GA for a game you already won, this has been fixed in the past.
But the spirit of Simultaneous Giveaways in the past 5 years has been to have only unique giveaways for every game. It encourages people to dig into the vast and endless amount of games to find the gems they want to give away. A huge part is the start of the reservation phases, where people gather in the group chat to get hyped together and compete against each other with their reservations. Who will get which reservation? It's just as much fun as the winning phase ;)

Even with this update it is still kind of contradicting the whole feeling and spirit of the group - big point of SimGiv have always been crazy variety of games you could win, very often you would find GAs for games that have never even been gifted on SG before, the only chance to win them would be in the event, big part is also finding new, niche and unique stuff to give away, something that haven't been reserved by someone else yet etc. Without unique GAs rule it would all be lost and we would end up with a flood of whatever is currently on the best sale ;p
It could also generate additional problems - what if 20 ppl decide to create the same game, few of them as their primary, but each of these 20 GAs got 19 entries and in the end even if all GAs had 19 Entries one will end up with unsuccessful GA. What if this was his primary GA? With current system we can see 48h in advance that someone didn't meet 1/5 of group entering rule and this person can be kicked, it cannot be done if we find out after event ended ;p

I'm not trying to change the rules, even less since I've never been part of this, and I understand all your points (in fact, I had already written in my comment to forget about it if they want to keep that rule).
My intent was to simply point out that that rule is not "updated" anymore, since sg automatically avoid multiple wins now :)
I mean, I'm totally fine with that rule being there, perhaps they could just change that "so that people can't win the same game twice" part with something else.. I only want the truth! =P

It’s not only about someone possibly winning the same game twice, it’s also about only having one chance to win a game so it’s more exciting If you do win. It’s also more exciting when you reserve a game as it can be a competition to see who gets the reservation first. If the same game could be given away multiple times then it would make the event less appealing.

And what is the timeframe for GA creation then? (when can we start creating GAs I mean, I know we will end 48h before event end) - this is kind of important as me and probably many others as well will be travelling to visit families for Holidays around this time, so having GA creation starting so close to XMas may prove to be problematic to some people.

I think I remember you, vaguely. I'm giving you my support because you know how hard people push themselves in this event to be at their best. I believe you'll be bringing your "A" game.

Thank you so much Khalaq, I came here with all my positive intentions, but the problem is that I always see the same people in the group unfortunately, so it will be very difficult to enter in this one. Too bad no one else tried to do the same.. :(
I love the synchronización! :D

Those with a proven track record are more likely to get in, but there are always spots left for "new blood." We've got a bunch of new people, this time around, so we'll see how they do. Sorry you didn't get on this event, but there will be future opportunities. Just keep focusing on "quality over quantity" and you will set yourself up for the next go-round. )

Just remember: It's not about how much you spend, it's about how many people want what you're giving away. You'll have to do your research if you want to do well.

really interested but i can't buy global gift from my store so have bump ^^

there are always options. Even before recent changes to steam gifts but in times of region locks we've had members from Russia, CIS Countries, South America etc in the event. You can purchase ROW keys in ROW keystores, you can trade for gift copies that people still have in their inventories, you can ask members from price-range region to buy gift for you and send them money, you can also just send PayPal money or Steam Gift Card to winner themselves so they can buy game they won.

I'm super interested but not sure how regional gifting works to be honest...I kinda just stopped getting steamgifts after the change and stuck to keys.
putting my hat in if theirs any way I can do gifts from canada. if all else fails theres always keys
Comment has been collapsed.
as for how gifts work - best is to currently use SteamDB - it shows you prices of all regions for the game - you can gift to all regions where the game is cheaper than in yours and to regions where it is less expensive than +10%. Nonetheless in SimGive when you make GA you dedicate yourself to deliver it - so if you decide to make GA that you cannot give to all regions and someone from such region wins - you still have to deliver. Buy a key instead of gift for example, or send person money (Steam Gift Card, PayPal) so they can purchase the game themselves.
Ofc noone forces you to make gift GAs, you may as well stick up to keys only, but keys only gives much less variety, so you have much less choice during reservations ;) And it's always possible that someone reserves the key you wanted to give before you ;p

Update 22nd January
Our "mini" event was a success. Despite the new Steam Gifting policy and a smaller duration than usual, we've had 874 giveaways and about 900 gifts sent. We also had a "consolation" round where we gifted the three unluckiest of us a game from their wishlist.
Created 3rd December
Hello again community!
Some of you may already know what this thread is for, so if you do please skip the introduction part, but read the rest: Due to the new Steam Gifting policy and my lack of time we had been hibernating for a year, but here we are again. Since we are a bit late on schedule (recruitment should have started about 2 weeks ago), this can be considered a "mini" event, which will be a test to see if we can also handle the new Steam gifting policy.
Group Introduction
First of all you should know that this is not a new group, it was first created during Christmas 2012 and since then we've had nine successful events (we skipped Summer 2017):
The group's stats page can give you a glimpse of that success.
So it is obvious by the repetition pattern, that we operate close and during big Steam Sales. The goal of this group is to gather a certain amount of members that will create unique quality giveaways and share them with the rest. The tricky part is that ALL of those giveaways will end at exactly the same time, regardless of the time zone.
For that to work there are some rules to follow:
so that people can't win the same game twiceto keep a diversity of games, but multiple copies are ok). It's simpler than it looks, the hardest part is for me and the mods to organize and make sure people follow the rules.
For those that need more details, you should check on the group's profile here.
Also take a look at our Group Rules in Detail and our FAQ.
How to enter the group
What you should also know
What's the group's timeline
(read this if you get to be a member of this group)
This time around I added some Steam group calendar events (which still needs to be updated) but the general idea is as follows:
Group Site
Since we started this group I've been using Steam Groups and Spreadsheet to handle the proceedings. One of our members TheTimmaeh is kind enough to trying to take us to the next level of having a site to handle our event. We do our best to have it ready for this event but nothing is certain. If we do, some of our procedures might change but the mods and I will be around to guide you. Participating in our events is considered easy regarding the procedures on your behalf, but hopefully with the new site coming up, it will be made even easier.
Few last words
Our last event had 70 members and 1870 unique giveaways (also on our new site ) (average of 27 giveaways per member, which means also an average of 27 wins per member). Two members managed to not win anything but only entered for about 1% of all the giveaways.
tl;dr
This group is not for you
