I would like to join. I really like giving away games, and even though I haven't won too many, I'm obviously interested in winnling some. I'm genuinely here to give away games (mostly from bundles where I buy it for the one game I want and then give away all the rest), but I would love to giveaway non-bundled games, especially if this is occurring during the winter sale.
I know steam has changed the way they do gifting, Can we still buy games on sites like Humble Bundle, or does it have to be from the Steam store?

you can buy games wherever you like, key GAs can get as many entries as gift GAs, but you have to keep in mind that your primary GA gotta get at least 1/5th of the group entering it (if you want to get in future events probably quite more). Considering recent changes to point regeneration on SG (people will be entering much less GAs) it means that it needs to not only be non-bundle game but also a good game and a game that vast majority of group don't own (this group have a lot of heavy collectors - not people owning hundreds of games, but rather thousands of games in their Steam libraries), so it means it also cannot be a game that have seen many major discounts, as most of members will own it already..

That's fair. I am willing to buy a good, full-priced game (probably a few).

Congrats on the wedding, boo that you won't be able to join us, this time. We hope to see you in another event, though. )

Well, it's time for me to stop solving puzzles here, and contribute a little more :P ...
I would like to join you, if you want me in. Take care!

Great to see this coming back again! Past events have been a blast and full of excitement.
However, I won't be applying this time. I haven't been very active or had much time for games / SG lately, so I wouldn't want to take up a spot when I couldn't live up to the standards of this awesome event. I'll still peek in and see how the event goes, and hopefully I'll be in a better position this summer to participate again. Also, we're expecting a new baby this June, so summer will be a very exciting time!
Cheers & Viva La Synchronization !!

Seems like this will indeed be a mini event, since many "veterans" will be skipping it. I am to blame a bit too for not organizing this sooner I guess. What's important to know is that we will be having a cap of 40 members (totally a mini event). I'll be inviting the last ones I picked myself in the next hours, while I'll have a list of 15 other candidates ready for the 35 already-members to vote for. By Tuesday afternoon, their picks will be invited and we can start the event.
So don't feel you weren't chosen if you haven't been invited yet, BUT... No more applications are accepted after this post

Was debating about signing up for awhile but didn't sign up this year because I'm been kinda inactive on SG, and lacking money for big giveaways as well.
Feels so weird not being part of the event after being apart from it from the very start. lol
I hope you guys have a great event! :) Maybe will try to hop back for the summer 2018 one.

Our "mini" event was a success. Despite the new Steam Gifting policy and a smaller duration than usual, we've had 874 giveaways and about 900 gifts sent. We also had a "consolation" round where we gifted the three unluckiest of us a game from their wishlist.

Hello again community!
Some of you may already know what this thread is for, so if you do please skip the introduction part, but read the rest: Due to the new Steam Gifting policy and my lack of time we had been hibernating for a year, but here we are again. Since we are a bit late on schedule (recruitment should have started about 2 weeks ago), this can be considered a "mini" event, which will be a test to see if we can also handle the new Steam gifting policy.
Group Introduction
First of all you should know that this is not a new group, it was first created during Christmas 2012 and since then we've had nine successful events (we skipped Summer 2017):
The group's stats page can give you a glimpse of that success.
So it is obvious by the repetition pattern, that we operate close and during big Steam Sales. The goal of this group is to gather a certain amount of members that will create unique quality giveaways and share them with the rest. The tricky part is that ALL of those giveaways will end at exactly the same time, regardless of the time zone.
For that to work there are some rules to follow:
so that people can't win the same game twiceto keep a diversity of games, but multiple copies are ok). It's simpler than it looks, the hardest part is for me and the mods to organize and make sure people follow the rules.
For those that need more details, you should check on the group's profile here.
Also take a look at our Group Rules in Detail and our FAQ.

(read this if you get to be a member of this group)
This time around I added some Steam group calendar events (which still needs to be updated) but the general idea is as follows:
Group Site
Since we started this group I've been using Steam Groups and Spreadsheet to handle the proceedings. One of our members TheTimmaeh is kind enough to trying to take us to the next level of having a site to handle our event. We do our best to have it ready for this event but nothing is certain. If we do, some of our procedures might change but the mods and I will be around to guide you. Participating in our events is considered easy regarding the procedures on your behalf, but hopefully with the new site coming up, it will be made even easier.
Few last words
Our last event had 70 members and 1870 unique giveaways (also on our new site ) (average of 27 giveaways per member, which means also an average of 27 wins per member). Two members managed to not win anything but only entered for about 1% of all the giveaways.
tl;dr
This group is not for you
