Well… This was SUPPOSED to be a very happy AAA game completion celebration, but as you already guessed…

You see, I work a full-time job, also I am married + 4 YO son. This leaves me about 5-6 hours a week of total PC gameplay. No complaints, my life is sweet :D but it is sure tough to complete epic titles like The Witcher 3 GOTY with such a low budget. I think it is about 3 years since I “completed” any major game.

Anyway, while I (I mean – Geralt, of course) was wandering the lush green fields and vineyards of Toussaint, happily beating all leftover quests – the final doom was cooking its own plans. To cut it short, yesterday when I loaded my last save the game was about x20 times slower. VERY, very, very slow. Unplayable slow.

Tried everything. Applied fixes from forums. Turned off GOG overlay (yup, I bought it on GOG). Used the “check integrity” (or however they named it) option on GOG galaxy. Disabled all mods (I don’t have that many). To no avail, nothing worked /:

There were no Win10 updates to my machine lately, and of course there were no game updates lately. As with Nvidia, I have a GTX950 (a graphics card GA would be welcome!) which had no problems on medium performance settings throughout the game. Latest driver version installed, and there was no driver update in the last week. I don’t have other graphics demanding games installed so couldn’t check, but other games seem fine.
So I decided to call it a game and move on, sadly. All suggestions to fix this are welcome, of course.

But enough with the melancholy – the unbelievable fact is: I ALMOST finished an AAA game! let’s celebrate! Yay!

First time I create a discussion, first time I create an invite only GA, and first time I create a train. hope everything works as expected.
Inside: Some bundled games, some junk (my junk may be your gold!), and a nice unbundled game for dessert, yum…
Train is lvl 3+. Enjoy! ;D

To conclude, I would just like to shout out to SG community. You are all quite a lovely bunch! Really enjoy the forums, even though some trolls do exist (like the one near Oxenfurt. every army needs its troll). With that said, I would like to bring my own message forward: Try your best to be optimistic. I know, not everybody were privileged to grow up in a loving family and to have a bright life. Some live in constant fear or abuse, every day, each hour. I did not say everything is pink, but I found out in my own life that an optimistic view is a life changer. Even if not all is good, try imagining how it can be better and move yourself towards this currently imaginative state of life. Optimism impacts your physical health, it can also save you from depression, but better than that – it changes how the world sees you, how it treats you. Eventually, optimism will change your reality for the best.
