So I need a new gaming mouse, and my birthday is on February 27th. I would like one with macros if possible.

At this point, my number one choice is the GX-Gaming Gila

Anyone got any better suggestions? Also, if you have/had the GX-Gaming Gila, please tell me the pros and cons of it!

What mouse do you have in mind? (If you are planning to get a new one)

I'm using a Logitech G500, I love it, but that's probably because I've never used any other gaming mouse and don't know anything better.

I have an old RAT 7, with the 5600 DPI sensor rather than the new 6400 dpi, and it's branded with the Cybord logo rather than the Mad Catz logo

The only issues I have with it are - no feet under the pinky "wing", sensor likes to stop tracking on one axis sometimes, right mouse click is exposed, and it's impossible to tell what mode you're in unless you pick up the mouse, which invariably moves the pointer right and down. After a while my middle click started bouncing, and the thumb wheel doesn't always register.

tl;dr excellent macros, great mouse, solidly built, I abuse the shit out of the thumb wheel (which might fail to register every 1/10 times), but the sensor isn't that great and all the screws on it are rusted shut from my hands.

More than likely this will be ignored but I'm going to try anyways...

Laser sensors are bad. The Avago 9500 might be acceptable but it has positive acceleration of ~5%. You may or may not notice it.

Of mice currently in production, you'll want something with a ADNS 3090 or 3310 sensor, preferably 3310 as its newer and has some improvements to PCS. They don't have acceleration problems but depending on the manufacturer, may have noticeable smoothing (Deathadder 2013 being a particularly bad offender in this regard).

For the most part, with the Avago sensors that are common in stupid-high CPI mice, it's the acceleration in the sensor. Maybe it's because I mostly play FPS games at low sensitivity, but it's really noticeable to me. The tracking just isn't as good as you can get with other sensors. There's also some other issues, depending on whether the manufacturer updated the SROM, with input lag and smoothing though those aren't inherent to the current sensor design.

There are some benefits of the current A9500/9800 laser sensors such as their high perfect control speed and low lift off distance but honestly everybody would be better off getting a mouse with an ADNS 3090/3310 mouse. That's not to say every implementation of them is great, and there is some noticeable smoothing with the newer revisions of the 3090, but most are good. Or better yet, find an older mouse like IME1.1/3.0, WMO, Deathadder 3G, MX518, etc.

The one you linked seems very uncomfortable...
I would go either for this Razer one or for this other one. I prefer using a 'normal' mouse instead of a gaming one though, all of them seem uncomfortable to me.

my personal recommendation is the razer mamba. the size, feel, weight, shape of it are are really nice. the pads on the side tend to get a bit gunky with use and the scroll wheel has notches so it is a bit slow and stuttery. all the buttons are programmable and the options are really nice. the flexibility of having it wired or wireless are nice and the multiple profiles you can save triggered to start when an application runs means you can set the mouse to different specs for different games. also it has 7 buttons.

I actually want to get a new mouse also. My choice right now is either the Logitech G602 or G700s.

They both are very nice in my opinions, however the G602 does not have the scroll wheel with fast scroll mode.. :( Otherwise it would have been a very simple choice for me..
