I'm guessing it's newcomers "should I even bother" question, not more usual "I entered so many giveaways and all I have is broken mouse because I had to click so many 'enter to win' button" complaining.
All in all, I mostly come here to read forums (I've already found few thingies thanks to you guys). Giveaways are just a bonus.

There are plenty of giveaways that cost more then 5-10 dollars...
Plus its free, so not like you lose anything from clicking a couple times a day on some stuff you might win.

Under 5% is putting it mildly. There's a statistics page that shows that the average public giveaway tends to be around 0.15% chance. If something has 500 entries, of which yours is one, you have a 1/500 (0.02%) chance of winning. However, that's still more than if you don't enter at all. Also, sometimes there are giveaways that give much higher chances, especially private puzzle ones.
Certainly, if you have disposable income and are looking for one particular game, then SteamGifts isn't the quickest way to get it.

The odds to win a game here are still better than the odds of winning the lottery, period.

AND the knowledge of that is enough to discourage you from ever entering the lottery! (I won a game pretty early on, but less people entered than the number of copies being given away in that particular historic event :p )

It was an honest question indeed, there's no doubting that. The problem is that we get these threads regularly, and it's a very beaten dead horse around these parts. People tend to get a little tired of them.
As to your question, yes, there is moderation on these forums. And yes, you can indeed win giveaways.

How do you suggest we avoid reading your threads when they show up in the things we'd like to read? :p

There is, your useless thread will be deleted shortly. Enjoy your stay.

Almost 1 per hundred entries. Not bad considering most were public.

I won something on Playblink faster than I did here. (Then again, it was Chime... lol)
However the community on Playblink is no fun.

Oh, I know Chime is a great game. I meant as far as value goes it's not like I've won Skyrim or Max Payne 3.

Then you're missing out on the most important part of the site.

I'm what you would call a "not very lucky" person. I can't imagine ever actually winning something from this site. Are there any users here who have gone for months or years without ever winning anything?
