Which was your favorite?
Well, Skyrim has become the idiots Elder Scrolls. It's completely idiot proof.

I'm not angry about that, Hell, I have over 500 hours in Skyrim. Beat all of it even the DLC's. Made a practically indestructible character. A Breton tank. I swear I was 99% immune to physical attacks and 95% immune to magic.

Bethesda were making games like Skyrim before the DS devs were born! lol

A bit silly to compare Skyrim to Dark Souls. They're not similar sort of games at all, and cater to different itches. But yeah, I agree with the initial comment that Skyrim has become the idiot's Elder Scrolls. But then the series has been going towards reduced complexity (and increased casualness) since Daggerfall. Personally, I'd say Morrowind was the sweet spot. Not too complicated, but not too dumbed down either.

Agreed! I've spent way too many hours on that game!
I have DS1, but it's such a terrible port. :(
Edit: Happy Cake Day!

I can't pick between Dark Souls 1 and 3. 1 was my first, it had the biggest exploration curve, and no game after it could ever be as hard or frustrating. It had so much brilliant design. But 3's aesthetic spoke the most to me, and I think I had the most fun per hour with its quicker combat. They're similar games, but I love them in distinct ways.

The system has improved so much in DS2 and then DS3, but for its atmosphere, epicness, and challenge, gotta go with DS1. DS2 feels smaller but tighter, though a little bit less inventive. Also, there are more cheesy encounters, although I've enjoyed it very much. DS3 is also very fun, but feels like a shadow of 1; just a glimpse of the past.

I tried dark souls 1 influenced by all the hype and I finished it twice and I don't like that franchise so I won't bother with DS 2 or 3 unless I win it in a GA or something. I did enjoy a lot Dragon's Dogma, which was unexpected but I feel that it's honestly waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay more fleshed out than the DS/Bloodbourne games. I am a really hardcore RPG fanboy and to me DS lacks purpose, direction, better combat and roleplay mechanics. No hate, but to me DS games are glorified Zelda games and overrated as hell. Oceanhorn is a better Zelda clone imho.

I'm not sure if the experience you get depends much on the class but I played DS1 as Deprived and had a hell of fun, played as sorcerer in DS2 and got bored as hell, literally a soul arrow shooter, some monsters didn't even touched me, now in DS3 got a pyromancer, looked good but I got stuck at vordt of the voreal valley, died around 15 times and stopped trying, people say ds3 is easier but I dont think so XD

I really like the series and I can say first game was the best out of 3 for me. But the worst was DS 2 sotfs. It felt too cheap and trying too hard to be hard imo. So much ambushes with no purpose. Limitless healing options. Also I realized how much i hate standing still while drinking estus after playing DS 3. :D Lore was a bit underwhelming in DS2 too. Not very memorable characters. Also dlc's felt like they were supposted to be beaten with coop. DS 3 was nothing special just a bit nostalgia and some good bosses Nameless King is my favorite boss right now. In first game I was like "I am gonna kill all of you one by one. I will be a monster that cannot be tamed." which i was in the end:p but other games didn't give this feeling. However what DS 2 did awesome was PVP. I really liked PVP in that game and probably only cared about it in DS 2.

as much as the systems are improved and refined in DS2, the characters and the world are much more immersive and endearing in DS1, IMO, i think part of why i feel so attached to the map of DS1 is the lack of fast travel, so ill go with 1 for this one.

DS2 is my favourite and the first one i played, still haven't finished DS1, died way too many times in DS1 and also got lost a few times. DS3 is basically DS for noobs, requires little to no skill PVE-wise. PVP i can't really comment much since it isn't what i focus in these games when i play them. Btw the version of DS2 i'm talking about is the original edition, not the scholar edition.

Demon's Souls was my first, so of course that's my favorite. Played it at launch (NA) and it was thrilling, having invaders especially in world 3-3 and not accidentally falling on Stockpile Thomas when committing suicide in the Nexus. World 4-2 sucks for obvious reasons. And then there's Patches, who somehow manages to come back in every game that's worth playing.
In order of preference:
DeS>BB≥DS1>DS3>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>DS2>SoTFS (Hate the new enemy placements)
Also just to point out OP: Demon's Souls and Dark Souls are set in different universes and have no story to link them together.

skyrim combat sucks and is clunky. i literally bought the legendary edtion and quit within an hour... dark souls on the other hand ive played them all just need to beat 3 sometime !

Skyrim's combat isn't too great, but surely it can't be worse than DS1's combat!? Actually, the word "clunky" could be used for DS1's combat.

i find all souls games combat to be leagues better then skyrim, its smooth and you cant spam attacks constantly so there's a challenge. well melee wise anyways

Attack spam and degree of challenge has no direct relationship with the clunkiness of a control scheme

i dont know how dark souls has a clunky control scheme unless you mean with kb + m then yes but in general no its fluid

Only played first and second one so far. So from those it's original. But i really want to get my hands on third one.

My favorite is still Prepare to Die (I don't have DS III yet)
I just can't like DSII more than DS I... okay, it has better graphics and runs smooth but, maan, Prepare to Die, in my opinino, is way epic than II
Epic bosses, places, one better than other... I didn't feel the same while playing DS II D:

Bloodborne. I haven't beaten Dark Souls 1,2 or 3 mostly because my PC doesn't register my PS4 controller so I can't play any of them on my PC anymore, but I've beaten Bloodborne 3 times I love the trick weapons and the way you do parrying in that game in comparison to Dark Souls 1 and 2. If they ever bring it to PC (Hopefully more likely now that Sony was willing to let us have their previous exclusive of SFV) I would buy it and enjoy the fuck out of the game all over again.

DkS1, definitely. Yeah, it's still really hard but... Only for those uneducated of the patterns and that's literally it. Black Knight Sword + heavy armour ruins the game.

First one will always be the best for me. It was the first Souls game that I played and the whole world and lore just grasped me completely. DS2 did some things better in terms of combat responsiveness etc, but the lore and bosses weren't as interesting. DS3 is great, too, but felt like it rehashed too much stuff from DS1. A lot of fan service. It's probably the easiest one, too.
All great games but DS1 is the king \[T]/

DS over DS2:SOTFS, I find DS2 more frustrating than enjoyable, but maybe it will change with time... and I can't get myself to care about the lore as much as I did with DS for some reason, and it refused to work properly with my controller >:(

I still cry in the shower thinking of Blighttown. Dark Souls 1 was the best.
Dark Souls 2 is good too, but after two playthroughs (DS2 without DLCs / Scholar), I still can't name more than 5 bosses. They aren't memorable.
Demon's Souls was pretty good, but it's like Pokemon Red/Blue : great but too much limited (very few weapons and armors, limited upgrade system, 5 separated maps so goodbye the joy of opening a big epic shortcut and a poor diversity).
I haven't played Dark Souls 3 yet, but it looks really great.

So which one is your favorite?
So far I'm liking Dark Souls 2 better than DS 1.
Seems to have a better combat system, especially for dual wielding. And the areas are FAR more atmospheric.
And since I don;t have DS 3 yet. :P
I did include Demons Souls in the poll for those of you that did play it since it's set in the same universe if not the same storyline.
