... and also I have only one person to play with. So, maybe somebody wants to play sometimes something multiplayer using a voice chat?

I would if I had a decent connection :(

Also, drop into SG chat and talk about random stuff :3

EDIT: English SPEAKING - d'oh. Listen to some old Sinatra songs, learn the lyrics and sing along - modern day songs have shitty pronounciation.

English is a surprisingly hard language to speak well, I know people that have been speaking it as a first language since they could talk that still suck at it. lol

Don't feel bad if it doesn't come well at first, there are so many really weird words that are only spoken in English... o_O

If I had a better connection then I'd offer to help you out, but sadly my connection prevents me from maintaining any game play on a server... >_<

Good luck with your quest!

I'm trying to read books sometimes but it's difficult for me.
Sometimes I think on English. I don't even know why.
I tried to watch movies in English... I can't understand half of the words.

Thanks for advices!

I always have a dictionary link ready. So whenever I encounter a word I don't know or I feel I'm not certain of the meaning, I look it up. Watch English movies with English subtitles. Also don't be ashamed to talk in it. If someone corrects you on something, people tend to get offended, but imho that's a mirror of a lot of inner securities. Just go with it. The words will eventually start coming to you faster and faster. On the other hand when you're not sure what to say, just take a pause and think on the sentence. Then articulate it.

Practise makes you close to perfect, try getting people correcting you if possible.

Maybe you can try making a let's play video or something like that to improve your english.

The best way to learn english is to go for a few months to some english speaking countries. ( yes, with an s)

just remember that UK is wet while AUS is hot ( beware of the sharks if you surf, beware of spiders in the jungle, suncream is a must due to the 50% cancer rate ( not all skin thought ).

Improving your english is easy by watching movies, listening to music etc, but really even playing games online is miles away from spending time in a country. Especially with the accents, sayings etc.

I improved my English by watching movies - with a dictionary in hand.

Whenever there was a word or saying I did not understand I would pause the movie and look up the word(s).
Additional English subtitles (that you can toggle on/off) might also be helpful if you can't understand an actor at all.

Here are two simple steps to better English.
1- Stay AWAY from the internet.
2- Stay as far away from anything or anyone that has any affiliation with a chan site.

I'm not sure if this is true, but supposedly watching sit-coms will help improve your English. Went on a trip to China recently and saw "FRIENDS" on sale as educational material in major bookshops. No joke.

And thanks to my country's hyper-competitive education system, all of us have been trained to write 500 word essays in 1.5 hours, for both English and (in my case) Chinese.

English in my school was taught really bad. Almost everything that I know now I know because I like programming and a lot of articles about it are in English. I'm trying to play games and watch tv series without subtitles, but ineffectually.

Really there is only one way to learn a language well. Practice, practice, practice, practice.

Watch shows that are in english (no subtitles!) - talk with people who speak decent english and ask them to correct/assist you where you make the most errors.

English isn't the hardest language to learn, unless you have a really bad accent you should be able to get decent at it quite fast.
Accents make things harder for understanding, but you should be able to grasp the language itself quite quickly still.

On the long run, really. Practice is the only way forward. You can have 3 years of language in school and barely become proficient - but if you live in a country for 6 months you'll learn a ton faster because you are actively using the language every day.

When "watching TV programmes is ineffective" for you, i´d guess you hadn´t stuck your nose in deep enough.

Watch more, play more, do more.
Playing games in your motherlanguage? Wrong!
Just switch everything to english :D

I remember playing Shining Force on Sega Genesis when i was 10 and i barely understood more than 2 words of each textblock. Yet i learned how the game works, what interface buttons do and what their descriptions must mean. Many years later im the guy translating things to the scotsman who married my sister oO

I just changed tablet's language to English and laptop's (and Steam's) language will be changed to English after restart. Is it enough? :)

Change and in-game language to English if possible and prepare a dictionary near you. And for speaking the solution is only 1..practicing...co-op,multiplayer,even MMOs can help a lot with speaking as long as community is nice .

It´s a good start! Be prepared though for weird looks from people when they cannot use your phone due to alien language.

Also when you say "I tried to watch movies in English... I can't understand half of the words." - have you tried watching your favourite movies (like SPACEBALLS) in english? In that case you'll already know every spoken word in that movie, makes the listining comprehension much easier.

PS: reading your posts i wouldnt get the idea you had problems with the language btw.

Just learn all the swear words/insults in English and work your way from there. Good practice and best way to learn any language.

Watch Cartoons. They are usually at a kid's level so shouldn't be too hard to learn. Some of the older ones are better as the newer cartoons talk faster.

One of the things I like about Asians is that they want to learn and they will try to speak the language with no fear of someone laughing at them. Don't be self-conscious, just ask the person who's making fun of you what other languages they speak!!!!
