Yarg. Best part is seeing that at least one winner has been online twice since they won.

Yeah, thats annoying. Even when I ask in description to stay online for a moment or just to try to activate game asap and then give me feedback... Nah, who reads descriptions, let's enter as many GA as they can and claim game someday later :P

I do read descriptions, and even though I didn't give many games away, I always tried to contact the winner personally. It feels a lot better (for me at least), because I can present him/her the gift, and they can't just open their win list and get the key from a textbox (hehe). So I'd recommend you not to send them the key first, but find them all personally. Of course after I got contact with them I sent they key through SG, but only for the records :)

That has nothing to do with it... I had a level 4 winner who took several days to activate, and a level 0 winner who did it instantly. Sometimes people are just busy

ya...
make more giveaways..3-4
they will be on top of your profile & you won't see blight of awaiting feedback only X days/weeks remaining
It's a vicious cycle ;.;

You could always play games to distract yourself if it's bothering you so much. ;)

Steam shows a globe icon, if they are online using the browser, and shows a phone, if they are online from phone only, but yeah you are right BTW. Also isn't that funny, that we constantly read threads, where OPs whine, because they won a game, but the GA creator didn't send the key/gift instantly, while until now I haven't seen a single thread, where GA creators have problem with winners.

That feel when the winner activates the game, doesn't click on the fracking "received", but plays dota 2 instead

gets somewhat annoying when almost a week passes and guy wasn't online - since he's either unable to or dead or on vacation lol

Yep. I'm not expecting people to be glued to their computer (especially on a weekend, la), but when they're online since winning and haven't said "Hey, I got this, thanks", it's a sad.

Especially since I want to start another set of GA.

I guess this thread has now a reason to exist since you wrote that comment. There is one tiny bit I can relate to. People winning and not saying thanks right after they win, considering they are online of course. Why are we always the ones that have to go first and run after them... I haven't been raised like that.

I wait for the ga creator to contact me before saying thanks because I don't want to look like an impatient boy, if you meant that

Tip: Put some contributor level restriction on your next giveaway.
People who actually gave away some games are more likely to give you feedback faster, at least in my experience.

There may be ways to improve the process and encourage users to do the right thing. Something along these lines of... user has 1 week to activate as long as they haven't seen the key. Once they do (that is, open the screen where it's displayed), they have 1 day to activate and mark as received or not received. Failing to do so within the given time frame would end in a suspension. Thoughts?

The best is to use higher level 2 or 3+ so less problems with people..

Had a level 5? 6? winner a few months ago (reported and rerolled) who didn't activate his games. Sadly levels doesn't mean reasonable behaviour, neither rule-abiding person. :\

I'm on day 2 of waiting for my winner to add me to claim though he's been offline so maybe busy like work or school. sigh. How long before they forfeit it? I'm assuming like a week?

Usually the winner is happy about winning a game, and excitedly waits the key to appear or creator to add him/her. Seriously, this is the case :) Unless you stated that they should add you, it's possible that he's also waiting for you to initiate (If he doesn't accept to friend's invite or removes / blocks you, you can ask for a reroll after 7 days passed from the GA's end)
Or you can always send the key / gift in an email. Or you can email the winner first, and if he replies, you can send the gift - some people do so, if they'd like to have the feeling of actually talking to someone, and not just dumping the game to one's email

I could try the email thing I think , though it's a gift in my inventory. Dont know if I gotta add him or not.

Sometimes I check SG on my phone, and can't activate keys until after work or something.

If the regifting happened in the past 1-2 months, you can ask for reroll (I don't really know if support approves if the regifting happened earlier - if it was unpunished so far, probably)
EDIT: 212 sent, then you know the drill I guess ^^
