Profit, and huge! Collected some games with it :3
Not spent any real money for it :)

I was hoping to buy in the end but had to work and prices were too high just before I left.
I sold all my cards with No crafting. Made some nice change as I was lucky to get a Foil on day 2.

The best time to sell was when the event started and there were only about 300 cards on the market. The highest price was 90c for normal cards. I messed up and sold them prior to the even @ 20c each. But even so, the event made me like a $15 profit. Aside from like 15 cards i sold, I also sold 3 foils and an uncommon warframe skin. At the time that i sold the skin, only 1,800 had been crafter. Got $4.32 for it.

they not exactly sold out, Valve just was deleting them, and seems while they were deleting ppl could still buy, but what a surprise to ppl who bought it after they expired and saw this message "This trading card has expired, and can no longer be used."

An important factor is also that a lot of people are plain stupid and don't ever bother to read anything so they were hoarding those cards for no reason the same way as it was with summer cards never minding their expiration date.
Anyway that dota items for snowglobes business sucked hard. They should go back to events with achievements and rewards for playing games. I sold all of them and so i made a little money to buy games woooot.

I got only around 2$ because steam was down in the last day...I had 20 cards, selled only 9 for ~ 20 cents each.
And community is really stupid, because they didnt up prices for this cards...and i lost 11 cards for nothing, 20 cents for card its SO UNREAL.

I recieved a full set save from 1 card, #2, and got quite alot spare ones, so I sold many, crafted a badge and sold the item, an uncommon TF2 item, so all in all I earned the only thing I purchesed from the sale; Bioshock Infinite Season Pass.
So for me, it's been only a win.

I sold and bought a few cards and made a small profit of maybe 80 cents because I got the rare Dota 2 item with my first and only badge.

Crafted one level of the badge and earned more than I spent since I didn't spend a thing on the cards.

Spend the time working a McJob. You can earn more.

Well that's for sure.
But it was fun for me. It was simplified version of stock market , fight between sellers and buyers, will the price rise or fall. Will you gain or lose. That was just fun. Of course on real stock market you can gain more (real) money, that's for sure…. And by working you can have steady income and if you want to spend real money on games… sure you can.
But as I said. It was just for fun. Well all in all I "earned' about 1 euro… I always say "earned" using "" because it's not real money. And let's be frank even beggar would gain more than that in just 1 hour.

Honestly, I just sold my cards for a profit of 14 per card. I sold way too late, since as soon as they were available the sales were as high as 60-80 cents per card. I guess I could've traded for something worth while, but I was way too late on the voting.

As you know there were lately many threads about Snow Globes and predictions about card prices. Some of us (me too) were predicting that prices will fall to 0.03-0.05 euro… as you see we couldn't be more wrong. I think that main problem is that we didn't calculate important factor: servers being jammed. Probably that's why there is "panic" on market right now and the prices are slowly rising… many people are having hard time buying it cheap so they decide to go for cards with higher price…
But never mind this.
The really issue is: did you profit? Or did you lose? That's kinda funny battle of traders, sellers fighting with buyers.
As for me (we are talking only about Snow Globes)
I sold all in all 14 cards - > "earning" 2.27 euro -> average price per card 0.16 (after steam-tax)
Bought all in all 10 cards -> "paying" 1.30 euro -> average price per card 0.13
Outcome ->0.97 euro (It proves that I'm rather poor trader)
And from crafting 1 badge I got: :tcry: emoticon, Holiday Sale 2013 - Surgeon Simulator wallpaper and Portable Smissmas Spirit Dispenser (I dunno why but I can't even sell it)… so yeah it was gamble and I lost the game.
Can't say that I lost something… didn't spend single penny so it's not that bad…
And what about you? How much did you earn/lose? How many badges? What items? I'm especially curious about heavy spender .
