What game music do you currently consider the most talented piece of art?

I never really liked Heroes V and VI too much so I can't say anything about the music in those games.

Hotline miami.

They pretty much all suck except GTA often has some good ones on the radio.

I've got three and I can't arrange them in order. All three just amazing.

• Mass Effect - Noveria (just perfect, I'm feeling cold just listening to it)
• Sonic - Starlight Zone Theme (brilliant piece of music and perfectly placed right after hard Maze Zone)
• Streets of Rage - Keep the Groovin' (catchy as hell, can play it for hours in repeat)

Edit: I forgot one more - whole GTA Vice City soundtrack. Rockstar just full of geniuses.

Chrono Cross. Not a steam game, but holy crap, the music is just amazing.

Carlo Castellano's soundtrack for The Swapper is amazing.

Quite possibly Clint Bajakian's soundtrack for Outlaws -- nice variety within the genre and captures the Ennio Morricone vibe extremely well sample
Runner up to Alexander Brandon's pieces on the original Deus Ex -- I love what he did with mod/tracker files soundtrack

(not all of the tracks are Brandon's -- two are Dan Gardopée, two and a half are Michiel Van Den Bos, and the five club/bar tracks are Reeves Gabrels)

Trivia: total size of the entire soundtrack is just a little over 50 MB.

There's a ton more, of course. Halo... O'Donnell and Salvatori, and Castlevania: SotN... Yamane, are two that spring to mind, but it's inevitable that I'm forgetting others.

Look Pimpin' or basically any song from Madworld or Killer Instinct.

Also the entirety of shadow of the colossus ost.

Portal 2 has a really cool soundtrack :) It's been on my iPod for a few years now and I've listened to it loads :D

It's just so good. I just love that Bond-ish feel it gives, fits the game perfectly.
