It's not.
At least I can't find anything on steam page about restrictions and it can be purchased as gift.

Ok fair enough, out of interest are you happy to pay more for games as long as they're on Steam? And is this a common thing amongst gamers? I only ask coz me personally I take my deals wherever I can get them regardless of what client they run in.
Comment has been collapsed.
I'm definitely willing to pay more, but that doesn't mean I'm willing to pay a lot more. I'll wait for as long as it takes to see the price I want to pay for a Steam version. It's annoying, but I will definitely enjoy the game more knowing that it's on Steam with the rest of my games ^_^ It's quite common, yes. Most people here would rather own a game on Steam rather than a DRM-free version.

Even the Steam version will need Uplay to run so what's Steam purpose in this case?
Comment has been collapsed.
Why pay anything at all, yarrr? ;P
But seriously, watch out for PC games from Ubisoft. I still cannot play AC3 comfortably. So DO NOT PREORDER it (nor any other game for that matter), because you might get left with poorly optimised port. So my advice is to wait a couple weeks or even months if you really want a game ;)

Really? And what's your message? That you won't read OP's post? No, why would you for god's sake, it's internet isn't it! It's much easier to insult everyone around you. I tried to politely tell you that before posting you NEED to read post you're commenting on. Or you'll end up making an ass out of yourself (like you're doing it right now) and then you'll go even further and continue insulting people. You wanna behave like you're twelve? Sure, go ahead. And I got your 'message' which pretty much sounds like 'you're a retard I'm bettah, go away go away you evil man' or something like that, my creativity is dead right now since I'm pretty darn tired. If you have even bothered to read his post beyond first sentence you'd have seen it was a joke BUT since you're being an ignorant prick who deems he's right even when he's wrong (quite often, eh?) you're the one who's at least, for now, on my ignore list and I sincerely hope getting suspended for at least some time in order to learn that, though it is 'just another forum' we (at least I hope) won't tolerate any sort of 12-year old behaviour here.
Enjoy your stay kind sir. May your games be short and bad.

I wanted to respond earlier, but this was too much fun :D
But I'm out of my imaginary popcorn now, so here's my response: the first sentence of my comment, the one you're so butthurt about, is... not written 100% seriously!!! Yes, that's right, the ";P" emoticon, word "yarrr" and the next sentence, which starts with "but seriously," were there to indicate that I was making a joke, not endorsing piracy! You probably stopped reading my comment after that part... too bad, because I think I was making a valid point about being more cautious with pre-ordering games.

I have read your commen three times to find out why he's butt hurt, but I couldn't find it out. And he could just tell me, but instead he just started to be a dick, well no shit I react like that.
Thank you for explaining it.
And yes I agree with you about pre-ordering, I have learned my lesson since Skyrim.

Well actually the "butthurt" (probably too harsh word for me to use, but hey, I like it:)) part was meant for you crusading against piracy when no such crusade was needed in the first place ;p
However, they could explain to you where you were wrong with your thinking... but on the other hand, we're on the internet, and nobody is going to be nice to you for reading something without comprehension.

Ummm.... Dude, downloading torrents of games you like then eventually buying them also means you didnn't pirate the game, as you bought it. While I get what you're saying, in general, when people reference piracy, they're talking about not paying for intellectual property of others, that you still consume. i.e. downloading games, playing them, not paying. Hence "I'm a pirate but I also pay for them" doesn't make an ounce of sense, unless you mean you pirate some, and pay for some of the really good ones, for example. Which is invalidated by the whole point this comment thread began with - you're saying not paying is wrong.

It actually means stealing software / getting stuff in the internet for free which are actually paid for.
Comment has been collapsed.
But then, torrenting to try the game is also pirating. Because if you didn't like the game you won't buy it so there is less sales. But if you didn't torrent the game you would have bought the game that you eventually dont like, but then the developer already got his money.
Also I know it means getting software for free where you actually have to pay for, but that goes mostly with torrenting.

lol NO? NZB's? IRC XDCC's? FTP's? There's MANY mediums through which shit's pirated, doofus. And "piracy" doesn't mean the same as "using torrents" ffs. What if you're downloading a free to play game through torrents? Or a free promo CD off an artist?
Wow. Just amazed at the dumb-ness.

You really are mind numbingly slow and need to learn to actually comprehensively read what people say. Let me spell it out for you then:
I said "And 'piracy' doesn't mean the same as 'using torrents' ffs. What if you're downloading a free to play game through torrents? Or a free promo CD off an artist?" to illustrate how your line of "So far I learned people use the term "pirating" as downloading a torrent" was absolutely wrong. You're the one who was speaking in ridiculous absolutes. Not me.
And what you said about "that goes mostly with torrenting" is also dead wrong. NZB's are used by a LOT of people with faster internet like FIOS or fiber. And they transmit a LOT more data on average than a couple of torrent users in a swarm - often with speeds up to tens of megabytes a second. Torrents are simply the easiest thing for people with little technical expertise to get in to using and have also been the subject of a lot of media attention due to the witch hunt on its' users, and trackers, further making them more well known. Being well known by the general public doesn't mean they're the most used avenue for online piracy.
It's not me that needs to learn to read. It's you - and it's not just our exchange here that makes me say that; it's a conclusion I draw from reading all your idiot posts on this page, where you continuously fail to interpret peoples' posts properly when everyone else reading them understands them precisely as they were intended.

If you really can read you would've known what I meant with So far I learned people use the term "pirating" as downloading a torrent".
Also show me sites where you can download with NZB. Probably not so many as torrent sites...
So yeah, I am the person whos wrong...
Also here is where I stop, should've done earlier but you just dont care to learn. Feel free to comment, I wont read them.

Umm.. No. It's getting products of intellectual property for free which were intended for sale, or even more technically, getting it from anyone that is illegally copying and redistributing the products - for free or not - or doing so yourself. Buying bootleg DVD's off the streets in Thailand is also piracy. The guys that copied those DVD's are also pirating.

Still, waiting some time after launch to ensure everything is alright with the game is a smart move... Smarter than buying a pig in a poke, I think.

I wanted to find English equivalent of Polish "kot w worku", which means buying something without knowing whether it will be good or not and google search resulted in the phrase "a pig in a poke"... I don't know, I thought I used a correct one, but you're the native English speaker, so you probably know better :)

That's only $40... It'll be $35 in some places for the preorder and will probably be $35 on the next sale and maybe $24 on the sale after that. Or it might hit $12 on Amazon then eventually $7.50 in 2014-15.
I'll wait.

WHAT AMD BUNDLE?!? The Never Settle Reloaded one? Because then I might also get a key retroactively just like with Blood Dragon! :D
Comment has been collapsed.
New bundle, not the old one that included Blood Dragon. Entirely new purchase so no mooching off old purchases :p

Not temporary, its completely exclusive, like the exclusive dlc they made for PS3 version of AC3. I dont think one shouldnt buy watch dogs because of that. Its probably a 15 minutes dlc without any importance to the plot.

Pretty sure the quote was: "We can confirm that customers who will purchase Watch Dogs on PlayStation 3 or PlayStation 4 will be able to download 60 minutes of additional gameplay via the PlayStation Network after the game's launch. As of now, we have no more details to share."
Doesn't really indicate any kind of permanency.

Deciding whether to get steam collector's edition (if there will be such) or PS4 version.
Comment has been collapsed.
Heh, its a Uplay game and it will be on that AMD promotion. You will probably be able to buy it for 20$ from someone before release.
