And it is over! The giveaway has finished.

Alright, I'm just going to mention that the giveaway is for a cheap game that everyone wants.

Now then, to get access to this giveaway you just need to answer a few questions for me with expanded answers.

  1. What is your opinion on Queen?

  2. What is your opinion on Radiohead?

  3. What is your opinion on the album, "In The Aeroplane Over The Sea."

Rather simple, I fully expect several people to get the correct answers. This giveaway ends on May 28th.

As I mentioned in the thread: it may take some time to invite you to the giveaway, however if you post the correct answers then you will be sent a friend request before the time is over.

In order to sort some confusion, there are answers which I am specifically looking for. If you have these answers then you are correct and gain access to the giveaway.

  1. Influential, but I don't really like them.
  2. Influential and fucking amazing. Radiohead can evoke any emotion in me and there's something about Yorke's vocals that just blows my mind.
  3. Probably the best album I've ever heard as a whole. I started off not really liking it much beyond a few tracks, but after spinning it a few times it grew pretty amazingly.

P.S. Go to my Last.fm (same username) if you want to see some more bands that you'd probably like.

Here comes honesty:

  1. My opininon? I respect them, but don't like them much.
  2. I guess I would have to give them a listen so I could judge; no opinion whatsoever.
  3. I would have to listen to it, but prior to that, I would have to find out whose album it is, and I don't feel like doing any of those things.

Basically what SlappyBag said.

  1. Great. I really enjoy them for the most part.
  2. Alright, but very overrated.
  3. Not a big fan of NMH or emo in general, so I haven't heard it all, but the title track is alright.

I'm not interested in the giveaway, especially as I don't have much to say on these.

Queen is the only one of these three items I'm familiar with. I think they are a somewhat overrated, but by no means bad. A lot of there songs are alright but I've never been crazy about them as a whole, and I really think Freddie Mercury is overrated as a vocalist.

I do like Queen, classic rock at its best. If you also like Queen, Fun's newest album seems like a hybrid of Queen and Mika that I really like.
I like Creep by Radiohead but not much else.
I had not heard of that album before now. I am listening to them right now and they are okay. Not really my cup of tea.

  1. queen is legendary and is deceptively complex with their melodies and transitions. i can appreciate that ... "and all that jazz"
  2. radiohead is another deceptively complex band that uses lots of strange time signatures, and since i'm a musician i love to be impressed by music! my favorite song by them is "like spinning plates."
  3. neutral milk hotel is a band i just recently started listening to a couple months ago and honestly havent given their whole album a listen yet, but i enjoyed what i've heard so far. their lyrics stand out to me as the strongest part of their band (something not too common these days in popular music sadly)

  1. Queen is a classic. It was the first band that my father gave me to hear (Innuendo), at 10 yo. There isn't an album that can be called bad.

  2. Radiohead is alright. 2+2=5 and creep are my favorits within the band. Not my favourite kind, but rather nice to hear from time to time.

  3. Never heard of it. Just finished hearing the titled song of the album and although it's not my kind of music, it does have the profund and meaningful lyrics that are typical to indie bands.

  1. Queen's pretty fun, Freddie Mercury is a total legend.
  2. I love that Radiohead exists, even though I've never been able to get into their stuff that much, because they always feel like they're moving forward.
  3. Straight up amazing album, easily one of my top 5 all time and might be my favourite ever depending how I'm feeling that day.

Queen: In my opinion they were the 2nd best band ever. Mercury's vocals are just fucking amazing, their lyrics are also good, little pieces of curious poetry IMO.

Radiohead: In my opinion they are the best band ever. Their lyrics are amazing, I saw them in Mexico a month ago, and I loved their show, my fav song from they would probably be "true love waits" which they played at Mexico, of course. I growth listening to their music.

In the Aeroplane Over the Sea: In my opinion the best folk American album. It's cover is famous thanks to 4chan (I don't know about its popularity over 9gag or RR), even when I like the album, in general I think that the best folk is made in Europe.

  1. I quite enjoy Queen. It's far too easy to get one of their songs stuck in your head without any sort of prompt. I was wandering around singing "Killer Queen" today because I couldn't get it out of my head and I haven't even heard it in a couple months.
  2. Radiohead's alright. I haven't heard anything I've disliked, but I haven't really heard anything that's made me seek out more. Although, I do really enjoy "Karma Police". I couldn't explain why.
  3. The only song I've heard from it is "Holland, 1945". But that used to be my JAM back in the day. In fact, I need to go listen to that, right now. If the rest of the album is as good, I'd be down to hear it. I'm not all that positive why I haven't, yet.

  1. Fantastic Band, great musicality and accessibility with their anthemic feel. Quite experimental for being so well liked. In particular I think Fat-Bottomed Girls is a wonderful catchy get-up-and-smile song. Not my all-time fave or anything, but a solid solid band and has some of the best guitar you will ever hear. The piano is also very prominent and timeless.
  2. The greatest band to ever walk the face of the earth. And Talk Show Host. Wow. Ok I'm going to elaborate so it doesn't seem like I'm just saying that. They have some of the most haunting music ever, with some of the most engaging at the same time. From Creep, the pop-friendly everyone-knows-song, to Climbing up The Walls, My personal favorite, they just do whatever is necessary to keep challenging themselves. There is no other competition in the history of music except maybe the Beatles and that's only because they were the first and most innovative rock band. Radiohead does it all. Every single one of their musicians is mind-blowing, with the exception of Ed O'brien who is good but nowhere near the mastery of Johnny or Thom. Thom can do anything. He is almost a demi-god I think I mean piano, vocals, guitar, lyrics, music, he does it all and with such heart you feel his deepest emotions erupting out of his chest and moving you to tears. Johnny Greenwood is simply my favorite guitarist ever, and I respect that he is also a composer, such as his album Bodysong, which I like but mostly I just respect his abilities. The solo on Paranoid Android is so great. They're musical and complex without it being unlistenable like some technical bands, yet they can relate to just about anybody. They always reinvent themselves or probably the more accurate statement would be that they always reveal just a little more every time. Simply the most marvelous beings to bless us with their music.
  3. Another wonderful album, so honest and engaging if not being typical "good sounding". I mean to me it sounds very good but obviously other people will be thrown off by the vocal but I find Jeff magnum to be one of the geniuses of our days, his lyrics are so poetic and inventive at the same time, not to mention sometimes downright frightening. There is a pulsing emotion that just THROBS out of the speakers and you don't get that kind of passion anymore. Somehow, even though his music may be "weird" Jeff's hooks are always so so catchy and if you don't find yourself singing Holland 1945 as if plays there's something wrong with you. Quite exciting and genre-bending and eclectic. Untouchable by most other "do-it-all" artists today. Unless it's Thom Yorke the master lol see above ^

1.- Queen is my second favorite band, just after Pink Floyd but Freddie Mercury is my favorite performer(I want to break Free/Dont Stop me Now/ Spread your wings & fly away) are my favorite songs.

2.- RadioHead, they cover one of my favorites songs ever "Wish you where Here - Pink Floyd" with an awesome creepy style.

3.- I like just a few songs of the album.
