I usually recommend a scan with this anti-malware program:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/
You can use the free version.

msconfig
under general you can try logging in with diagnostic startup
if all is fine with that check what programs are activated on startup from startup tab
might just be a simple script
For otherpeoples pcs I usually usemalwarebytes to remove crap from their pc

It generally happens cause you installed a software(generally free) and didn't pay much attention during the setup
You have two options:-
Either manually stop the startup service of that software(which i prefer).
OR use a another program which does the same thing(Many good softwares have been mentioned above).

Also if you frequently install unsecure softwares or programs their might be some other stuff happening in your computer you don't know about.

  1. install avast
  2. scan with avast
  3. install malwarebytes
  4. scan with malwarebytes
  5. in the future, please read through installers carefully instead of clicking nextnextnextnextnext
  6. windows+r
  7. type in "msconfig" without quotes
  8. go to startup tab and uncheck any suspicious shit
  9. open your browser
  10. go into options for your browser
  11. set your homepage back to what it should be
  12. in the search engine options, remove any stupid shit
  13. open control panel
  14. add or remove programs
  15. sort by date added
  16. remove stupid shit

Also, in the future, make sure to read the screen when running or installing software/viruses. It does wonders.
