It's hard to point to one game as the first, but Civilization and Eye of the Beholder are high in the running. Definitely something in '91 or '92. I know I had already played several games by the time Star Control II, Alone in the Dark, Dune II, and Wolfenstein 3D came along. Little did I know that all of these games would go on to become classics. Man, it was a great time to be a PC gamer.
Of course, the real first computer (and not console) game I played was Oregon Trail on an Apple II at school in the late 80s. Soon followed by Number Munchers.

I can't recall which game was exactly the first one, but remember Another World, Test Drive 3, Lotus 3 and a Scorch-like game called Castle or Castles. A little bit later there were also Worms 1, Duke Nukem 3D, Warcraft II and finally on my first own computer Colgate, Doom 2, Heretic, Supaplex and Pinball Mania. I still have some of them and play using DOSBox.
And the first video game I've ever played was River Raid on C64.

Oh my god, I love Croc! I believe I have a copy of that for the Playstation.
As for your question, the very first PC game that I remember playing is Doom. I still have the shareware disks that I used for it, as a matter of fact! Though I doubt the files on it are still good. ^^; But it's a special part of my collection regardless.
As for first games for consoles, it'd have to be something from my mom's Atari 2600. It was either Frogger or MegaMania, I think. And my first arcade game was Ms. Pac-Man. It was one that my grandma owned at her store. I loved going there after school, getting snacks, and playing that thing for hours. SO NICE
And my first handheld games were Tetris and Super Mario Land, and I got Pokemon Blue a few years after I first got my Gameboy. I thankfully still have my Pokemon game with its original box, instructions, and with the special promo Mew that I got from an event! :)

While I still maintain I have no real clue, I always answer with Nebulus when this question comes up.
Actually, my answer is more like "that game where you play the q-bert looking dude, but you're hopping around a tower trying to reach the door to get to the next level. Nubulbulo? Neebulis? Man, it was 24 years ago, how the hell am I supposed to remember."

First PC games... hmm. Can't say for sure really, but quite possibly one of the Commander Keen games. At least I know I played some of those before we had a PC of our own. First CD games were Beneath a Steel Sky and Syndicate some years later.

First PC game? Well first PC game EVER PLAYED was either Oregon Trail or Qix on Commodore 64. If C64 doesn't count then Wolfenstein 3D and Doom, played them both the day my friend got Doom on his comp. First game played after I OWNED my own computer? Diablo 1.

First PC Game would have to be Star Wars: Rouge Squadron.
Wish it would work on Windows 7, but apparently it crashes upon start up. Sad :[

Pac-Man on some dirt old PC with DOS (possibly not even MS-DOS) and a 2 colour monitor (it did black and orange, nothing else).
