Ttier $15 is now mine! (•ω•)
No thanks, HB! Not interested in software!

Maybe... Maybe not... *ponders* ٩◔̯◔۶

I wish, at least they picked a better VPN...
Winzip in the highest tier, must be a joke O_o

Btw Mille, your proof picture shows $5.62, not $5.56 :)

Overall seems to be a not so popular bundle! :D

I know that^^ But it's the only screenshot there is, but someone else said he got $5.56, so I thought I would just write that in. Maybe I should have put a note. Mhm idk.

Ah.. I had a $5.56 tab, but closed it without taking the screenshot, there were so many proof ss in the last bundle thread (HB Wild Frontier), I thought it wouldn't be necessary.

Np! ^^ You couldn't have known! :D And yeah, these software bundles aren't that popular that people want to look for the lowest BTA's! :P

Hahaha I admire that you do it! The ones from the categories I would want are kind of middle tier in their field.

I would love a super firewall, a super anti-malware, a very good video editor and a good image editor. So many things that could make it at least decent. x|

Honestly, i also only want the BTA tier. But my friend is interested in both connectify and speedify VPN and he suggested we buy a full package. He takes those 2, i can have the rest. But i agree though, some firewall magic would be a nice addition. Anyway, its still a steal, all that software for only 7.50 bucks :) Hope you get your wishes next time. Have a great day

I'm certain it is, but besides Photoshop, Windows (that comes cheap with the PC) and Construct 2 I don't think I ever bought a software. Oh I guess I bought a ZoneAlarm license once but that may be it. I'm just not used to it. Its just not a culture thing for us in Brazil due economy issues. All my softwares are either freeware or from SharewareOnSale giveaways (there is some really good stuff there sometimes, like lifetime licenses for actually good softwares, AShampoo Snap 2017 for example, great screen capture software, is being given away for free right now, lifetime license too, often its softwares that are not that good tho but if you can get legally and for free its still a good deal I guess, and safer, no spyware/trojan/other shit).

And yeah I was a bit disappointed but I guess it was mainly because I was hoping for some sweet games. I know HB pulls these things once in a while but it still gets you. I was actually at work today thinking "yay today there is some $1 gaming sweetness". x|

On top of that, I actually tried to turn things around and think "all right, lets see what we have here..." (cause I thought that streamer bundle was really cool), but no, this time nothing for me. But other than my salt I can see it is a great deal still. d:

Anyway thanks for the comment and have a great day too. :D

In an obvious act of trollism I have voted for "tier 3 is mine". I think this is one of the most stupidiest bundles ever made by the site.
I mean, come on, there is always a good (or even better) free and/or open source option.

remind me again while I would "upgrade" to winzip from 7zip? and to the system cleaning software here from CCleaner?

Living in China, I got it to try out Speedify. Works great on my home connection (can finally play Rocket League without much issue) but works horribly in the office (where I do most of my gaming). The IOBit software seems ok but a little annoying and persistent, and I swear has slowed down my boot time by 5-6 seconds.

liver you should just use CCleaner for your cleanup stuff.

I used the driver updater that found windows update missed (not sure if it's BS), and let the Systemcare do it's thing then shut it off. So yeah, back to malwarebytes and CCleaner. But the VPN, if it keeps working so well at home, was worth the BTA price

I'm moving to Beijing soon, so Speedify is the only thing I'm really interested in. Do you have experience using other VPNs there, and if so, how does the speed compare to Speedify? I was going to pick up some VPN before moving there, and it would just be for a computer and maybe a phone.

Nice! What are you up to in Beijing?

I've used a few:

OpenVPN (free) - usually doesn't work, Great Firewall easily detects
Betternet (free) - works okay for youtube and getting on foreign news sites, terrible for gaming, doesn't always work
ExpressVPN (paid) - works okay for everything, but just okay, occasionally breaks and has a lot of packet loss issues. But there are loads of connections, running a speed test once a week is a good idea
Speedify (paid) - works great for everything (except on the connection in the office, idk why). It was definitely worth the BTA price just to be able to play Rocket League for the past few days tbh
Astrill (paid) - probably the go-to for foreigners, works pretty well but I stayed away because of a massive outage last year that lasted like 2 months

Nord VPN are also trying to stabilise their China network and are offering some free spots for people in China if you do some beta testing, but I haven't tried it out yet

I'll be a university education consultant there. Something new, so here's hoping. What are you up to in C-town?

I'm looking into getting Speedify and CyberGhost, which was in a previous software bundle. I figure with both of them and something like SoftEther, maybe one of the three will work. Not a bad gamble for $5. Your ranking is really interesting, since I've only heard praises for ExpressVPN, even if it seems to be the most expensive. I've seen Astrill in the top 3. Know of Hidemyass?

I'm over in Nanjing, working for a training school and learning the language.

SoftEther/HideMyAss might be okay, not heard any one here use them, but I don't know too many foreigners. All the Chinese people use their own, but they are often free and as they are clamping down on VPN use in some cities, I wouldn't trust them. ExpressVPN just frustrated me so much, and their support always just said log out/in, restart application, check your connection, we don't know the issue, try again later. It was usually fine for general surfing, but not for gaming.

It has an ad-free freeware version that should be enough for any kind of everyday need.

Permalink

I've been using the free version for years, but it always took 1 or 2 minutes to fully load my installed programs. After switching from 2.x Free to 3.x Pro it loads instantly.
I'm not exactly sure if it's intended or not, but for me it was definitely worth 1 dollar. :D

You're right, of course: Certain aspects of RAR 4.0 files (e.g. comments) and RAR 5.0 files are not fully supported by 7-Zip v16.04.

  • I thought I saw a post where Igor, the developer, said a new build of 7-Zip was coming by the end of the month I think it might be more likely that I was reading a message posted not this month but some previous month.
  • WinRAR's developer provides a RAR extractor for free to people who want to include RAR extraction (NOT compression) in their software and I thought I remembered that having been updated to support RAR5 files, but, again, I don't think 7-Zip 16.04 works correctly. Will a new version of 7-Zip remedy any RAR-related incompatibilities? Only time will tell, I suppose.

Wow, this is actually the worst bundle ever, by far. Sadly, everything is either pretty much useless and/or overpriced. There are free or cheaper solutions for everything that's currently offered in that "bundle". Pretty bad one..
