Streets of Rage Remake V5 is a freeware game and damn awesome.

They contacted Sega of Japan about it before it ever got that far, and they didn't object. Sega of America showed up the day after it was completed with the removal notice. Jerk move from them.
However, a day later means it is all over the internet anyway.

Seems like a very good comparison of the different corporate culture in countries. That being said, do you have a source on the "They contacted Sega of Japan about it" part? Can't seem to find anything on it, just a lot of news about it being pulled. Sounds like it'll make a good read :>

Old forum posts mentioned it when interested people asked about being allowed to do the game. I'm not sure if they still have them up though.

Jamestown. Not at all like the games youre suggesting, and I wasn't interested in it at all until I played it, but believe me, it's awesome. Plus the game is built for local co-op- there isnt even on online co-op

This is great with local co-op so much that i won't play it unless somebody is here with me

Moving into an apartment with some friends soon-ish (in a few months). Think I may make my PC a destination in regards to a platform we can all sit around and play... already have the Xbox 360 wireless receiver set up and a couple of controllers.
What are some of the best local coop games on Steam? Local coop meaning, 2-4 players on the same screen at the same time (or taking turns I suppose). I'm not interested in online-only, like Dead Island or Borderlands... though I'm aware Borderlands can be modded to support split screen... I'm looking for it built in.
Games like Resident Evil 6, Rayman Origins, etc.
Thanks!
