Believe it or not I regret buying GTA San Andreas + GTA IV. After playing Saints Row 2 and 3, old GTA are just boring.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I didn't like GTA SA either. I did like GTA IV though, my computer just happened to be able to run it at max graphics at a good frame rate so I wasn't subjected to the poor port horrors a lot faced with it. I might actually replay it... wonder if I can now that GFWL is gone...

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I loved GTA:SA. Its one of my favorite games. I found GTA IV rather boring, although I think V looks awesome. I'm just really tired of all things NY.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

GTA V is the best in the series so far in my opinion. I played it on PS3, will get it on PC in a Steam Sale one day (Honestly not a console fan for these kinds of games).

My problem with SA was basically I am not fan of the street talk style used to deliver the story. It felt really over done especially in the beginning. I also hated the Train....

Permalink

Ugh... That friggin' train mission!

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Why everybody says that GFWL is gone?
Someone just rumored that it will shut down, but it didn't and probably will not. I know that they discontinued the GFWL Market, but of course not the service itself as a lot of games would become unplayable :P

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

None of my Fable III DLC work anymore and GTA 4 won't let you save without GFWL being active. If you use the special client MS released GTA 4 still disables saving (or it did when I checked a month ago).

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

IMHO, GTA III and Vice City are the best :)
GTA: SA was ok, but the newer GTA games aren't as good as they could be I think.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

My favorites are probably Vice City and San Andreas, with GTA3 coming in a close third. I loved the 1980s Miami feel of Vice City, with its period soundtrack. SA, while I didn't care for the style, still had a great soundtrack (if you avoided certain stations), was enormous, and I appreciated the new game mechanics... although I could have done without the mission keeping those crazy girlfriends happy.

GTA4... I've only played a few missions, and the rest of my time in it was spent driving around, riling up the cops. They tried to make the game into Sopranos: The Video Game and, in doing so, sucked every last ounce of joy out of what was a fun series. The characters in the game are miserable, and by being forced to take part in it, you become at least a little miserable, too.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

GTA IV is lame imo. Friggin life/phone/relationship sim with guns in a stuck up world with poor car physics.
SA was okay, but no Saint's Row can beat Vice City, tho they're pretty close.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I feel entirely different, but that's just me. The Saint's Rows games seem like a cheap-knock off of Grand Theft Auto, except crazier. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas gets mindless after completing the main storyline and doing some of the side events, but the multiplayer is incredible and I played it for over 5 years until recently (January), because I started getting into other games because I got a new computer. I bought GTA:SA 3 times and don't regret it. Also, driving in Saint's Row is absolutely awful.

I'm a little regretful about Tomb Raider (the newest one), but only because it dropped in price after I purchased it and before I got to play it. Basically a few wasted dollars.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah this happened to me also. And I kinda regretted it just because the Tomb Raider franchise is one of my favourite but the newest one didn't really feel like a tomb raider game

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I kinda like the new Tomb Raider. It has an Uncharted feel to it. Sad that the multiplayer scene is pretty much dead..

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It really didn't. I was incredibly disappointed in it. There was pretty much no puzzles and any "puzzles" there were in it were easily solvable. Also I really hated the forced fight mechanics, that game wasn't meant to be played as a shooty game. It's meant to be tomb raider and freaking jumping around and climbing like the first prince of persia game and solving badass puzzles >:T

Also "survival" in that game is a joke. You kill like one deer for "survival" and that's it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I agree the puzzles are too easy. They should've make it a bit harder or at least, not that straightforward.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Talking about dropping price.
I bought "Nether" while it was on a discount 50% off.
Paid €25.- for it, played 2 hours... Ugh ugh played? Correction tried playing.
Have 2 hours on me steam account which are from trying to get in game.
Such a shame cus it could be a real good game.
Almost 2 years later they got only 200 players left.
And they downgraded the price to 9.99. .'

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

A friend of mine bought it in the summer sale, and couldn't get to play the game either. Seems like such a waste.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't really regret buying it because I rather enjoyed it. I just regret not waiting longer for the GOTY. I bought the game and the DLC bundle on an 80% off sale in December, and not long after the GOTY came along. It's not a huge loss, but I think I'll wait for GOTY versions in the future if I plan to get the DLC.

I grew up playing the old Tomb Raiders, but I didn't play the game expecting it to be anything like the others, so I guess that's why I wasn't disappointed. I thought of Uncharted while playing it, I didn't play a lot of Uncharted, but it just had that kind of feeling. The only thing I don't like about the game is the button-mashing you have to do in some parts like when fighting the wolves and climbing the wall with the rocks falling. I would rather have had those left out if they didn't want to put proper fight mechanics in.

Natural Selection 2 is awesome imo. But that's just me, sadly I can't play much of it, since my cpu is pure sh*t :/ and I have low fps :s If you want the game to be fun you HAVE to have good amounts of fps and no lag, since it requires skill.

Permalink

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Contagion I feel like isn't that bad. I just wish I had a better computer and time I felt comfortable spending on that game. Natural selection 2 is a complete disappointment to me because the game is so poorly optimized, even great computers can't smoothly process that game. Plus the game is terribly unbalanced, I can deal with bad optimization I guess. I mean the optimization in that game is plain terrible, you can hardly shoot shit. But even without that I mean the teams are unbalanced as hell. Aliens practically get a guaranteed win if the players know what they're doing.

Biggest would be when my friend talked me into buying Duke Nukem Forever as pre-order. I really only regret the price paid, but at least because of GMG I paid well under full price.
Regret buying Forge before it was F2P, even though it was dirt cheap, I have never played it, so that little bit was a waste.
Other than that, I really only regret each time I've bought a later bundled game, before it gets bundled, especially when I never got around to playing it yet.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Have you tried the Realism Mod? It actually made it run better, looks way better, and it doesn't crash every 30-60 minutes like it used to!

Decompress the New Configuration Tool also called WDConfigTool (found at the bottom of that post I linked there).

Then copy one of the HQ presets in the post (one of the presets, Subtle, Warm, or E3, under Watch dogs Enhanced HQ 3.1 section) into the respective folder in the decompressed New Configuration Tool (WDConfigTool) folder.

For example, I downloaded the NCT file, uncompressed it, then downloaded the WD HQ E3 Atmosphere 3.1 Fixed file. Uncompressed WD HQ E3 Atmosphere 3.1 Fixed and there are two patch files inside, copied those two patch files inside the New Configuration Tool folder (WDConfigTool/HQ_mods/HQ_mod_E3/), executed WDConfigTool.exe, select the respective mod (HQ E3 something) and then config and install.

Now you can launch it and play it normally, and use the Options menu in-game normally. Now the Graphics Settings menu has been tweaked and Ultra means now Ultrax2, High is now Ultra, Medium is now High, and Low is now Medium, and either way, it will run and look better than when playing it vanilla.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Had the exact same problem even though I should have been able to. Bad optimisation for AMD card + bugs made the game crash and then my Antivirus Scanner deleted the .exe file for no apparent reason. Can't be bothered to get back to it now in all honesty.
