I don't know how long this will be the case, so, for anyone who may be interested, $9 may be the cheapest it will be for a while.

Well I bought it during the previous summer sale since it was known the price will go up even back then. The part that's already made is quite good however it only had like 20-25% of the planned content which was around a bit over an hour. I don't think it ever had a big discount either, maaaaaybe it's gone up to -33%? I'm not sure. I don't regret getting it but I also can't say it's a must have with only so little content, gotta have to wait for the launch in March to have a complete picture.

Hmmm how strange. This is high on my wl since March 2016. H9w can I have missed a discount during summer sales? Maybe it was only 10% or something, I don't consider that a discount :)
I read a lot about the update and the final release and it sounds to me the survival part is becoming more important. What a pity. The long dark and flame in the flood looked so good but when I finally got them they were unbearable.
I think I have to use my brains here. I almost never spend 10 dollars on just one game so with this uncertainty in it let's not start. T0o risky I might hate it.

Yeah it was -10 or -15% but the price raise was planned for October so I picked it up, plus it looked like a good EA title which I wanted to support it, however they prioritized porting to consoles so it can launch simultaneously everywhere, over fully releasing on steam first so it was quite delayed.

Price wise they're not comparable though. The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was 3,79€ on Steam when I got it and it came with the Redux version as well for that price. This one is $9-10 and from what I saw it doesn't look as good as The Vanishing of Ethan Carter.
I'd say it's better to wait for a sale with a bigger discount to take place. These titles tend to drop in price pretty much over time if you're not in a hurry to play them.

Thank you for the heads up:)
I had it wishlisted, but I figured I'd just wait until the full release in March. I didn't know about that price jump.

I was originally interested in the game because the action is taking place some 600 km from my house.
The game has been interesting so far, but I didn't go that far into it because I didn't want to hit a wall and have to wait for future content. I might just go back to it now that it's getting closer to release.

Kona just received an update yesterday on Steam. The price went from $10 to $18 and they say the full version should come out in March for $20. It is still available in the Humble store for $10 ($9 with Humble monthly sub).
