Looking for Anime Games to play

I am looking for an anime game to enjoy and that I can sink in hundreds of hours into. It needs to have a great story and not be a visual novel. And I know of Final Fantasy and Tales of Series, but I want something I can play that is new to me. A new game to play and starting off fresh! Any suggestions?

Not on steam but these are two of my all time favorite series:
Suikoden I to V
Shadow Hearts

There's also The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky I've had my eyes on for a while if you're only looking for steam games.
