cv points = overall spend points on ga * bundle factor

  • public ga of popular games give most cv

  • bundles are scaled down by a factor (e.a. 0.1) and give less points

  • no more small groups just for purpose of pushing cv

  • more diversification of giveaways

closed, cv will be gone soon, anyway

There will be no CV in SGv2, so I see no reason to make any changes now, if they gonna get removed soon anyways.

^ this. There will be no CV restriction option for giveaways and blacklists/whitelists will be implemented for everyone. There will be even more exclusivity regarding groups and private circles; likely less diversity for public giveaways. Probably the same amount of complaining.

Don't worry about it, cause if they keep up with what they said, CV is pretty much going to be removed from version 2 of this site when it comes out. Personally I think thats a bad move because steamgifts will end up just like all the other giveaway sites out there. Its already filled with mostly bundle games, but remove CV and it will get worse.

So on to your suggestions.
1> No, all giveaways should be based on how much they are in the steam store. No extra points just because its popular.
2> No, because how it works now is fine.
3> I would love to see group and private giveaways require 10 people in them before any CV is received for them.
4> Steamgifts can't control this. Usually what ever is on sale and/or in a bundle is what ends up in giveaways.
