I have the same problem when me and my girlfriend go to her family's house for holidays, its gotten better in the last year or two tho and they don't bug me as much. They don't get me anything so i don't get them anything. My gf gets all the female family members stuff, usually small gifts, and most of the time she'll end up with a few gift cards from them.

I can sort of sympathize with you when it comes to annoying relatives (though not in the exact same way). They really don't seem to get it that I like them the most when there are several walls and locked doors between us, maybe a continent or two as well. And yet every Christmas break I'm pretty much told I have to go home and then get dragged around by my mom to visit everyone at least once... My sister is even more annoying- using me and my mom as babysitters for her little kid whenever she feels like it. I'm supposed to be on a holiday! :|
