Idea for a new Rule

This rule is too restrictive and oppressive. Just let the users do what they want. Give them the freedom they need. If they win a giveaway, it is because they are lucky enough since good giveaway have at least thousands entries on public giveaway. Anyway there is always group, invite only, whitelist and lvled giveaway to reduce the chance of leachers entering.

It says "Free Steam Games and Steam Keys" as the subtitle for the site.
If users have to pay (games or bad rats or otherwise) to enter giveaways then that defeats the purpose.
The level system is enough imo.
Then those who believe people must giveaway games can set a level and its all cool.

Eh... I think we need to worry less about "leechers" and more about people who break rules repeatedly and are allowed to continue using this site.

you know how much i make? 100 dollars, you know how much that does to games? none because it goes to food and meds, if they made that rule i would leave here and never come back, i came to this site because i had a chance to win games. you would be saying "F you to all the people who have medical problems and have to spend all there money on meds and food" from the almost 500 games i have i got from bundles that my friends got me, for birthdays, Christmas. i've done 1 giveaway because it was super cheap and i had enough in my steam account to get it

Hell no, I disagree, just because you're rich doesn't mean everyone is aswell, and that you have a decent job that allows you to keep up with bills and also spend on games, doesn't mean everyone has/can too. This is literally saying "F off if you're not rich!" there are people who can't afford enough money to spend on games, does that mean they are leechers and should be restricted to win giveaways?

It's ridiculous. It would change the site into private giveaway group. Most of the public giveaways are bundles anyway. Keys people have spare and such. If everyone could afford to give away good games they would do it. I know I can't. I can't even afford to buy myself new stuff. If you don't like people like me set contributor lvl to 10. You can't force people... This is not what this site is about. If you want to force people into giving you games then make private giveaway group and look for rich or just richer than average people. The fact that you feel 'scammed' says a lot about you. Nobody forced you to give away stuff, nobody promised you a fair ratio, nobody forced you to even be here and nobody will stop you from leaving. You are angry that other people don't give away as much as you do... well I say... SHOOT THEM.

There is a trade section for the give-if-you-want-to-take approach. THIS IS NOT IT. This is the giveaway section. GIVEAWAY. I couldn't care less if you're won a hundred games and not given one back. SO WHAT. If I expected something back from the games I'm giving I'd take them to the trade section. What you are suggesting is basically completely closing down the giveaways section and replacing it with "(Direct) Trades Section #1" and "(Indirect) Trades Section #2". In that sense it becomes a bit like those "Buy a random key!" or "Preorder this bundle without knowing what's in it!" whereby you have to pay a certain amount of money for a chance to win some games.

What are you talking about? A lot of people don't have money nowadays. Steamgifts is their last hope to get a game in order to relax from their stressful day. They can't give back because they usually don't have money to do that. That's why I never understood giveaways for high contributor level users (for example, giveaways for levels above 6 or something). If they already have given so many games, it means that they're economically better than the most steamgift users, so why do giveaways only for them? I'm totally against this rule that you're thinking about and I will abandon steamgifts if it ever follows this rule, because that's a rule that will destroy the community.

Careful hand pick your tittle, chose only the game you know you like. and other will be like too to make GA

Do those thing normally ,and you will find your self welcome into some good group, get whitelist, sometime unexpect invite for birthday or whitelist too

well, even people with lvl2+ can be leechers, that's what i kinda hate

He thinks everyone should feel the same like him and give more games then they win, if they don't then they're filthy leechers.

Your suggestion is bad, people shouldn't be forced to give things away in order to enter for giveaways, nor should they in any way be punished for not making giveaways. We already have enough features to make limitations on who can and can't enter giveaways already.

Judging from your posts I came to conclusion that you're an entitled little brat with a wrong perspective on what this website is about.

I can share with the group why I hate the leechers:

I'm a simple man with simple tastes, my only pleasure in this world is skinny-dipping in creeks or really, anywhere.. Really a man's day can be ruined by climbing out of a pond and finding out your body full of leechers.

I'll give you an example - this summer I found an old stone quarry that was filled with water... I did what any red-blooded man would do and torn my clothes off and jumped right in. I was really enjoying soaking in the greenish water, was there for an hour I reckon. When I climbed out, aside from my fingers being wrinkly I counted 13 leechers on my lower back!

So a rule would be nice, that leechers should stay off water, they can live in hotels or something. Thank you for reading.

I don't understand your problem:
if you don't want to give away games to "leechers" then make GAs in higher levels, invite only or Whitelist...
You can even create your own groupe.

If you are sad because you "only winning Indiegames" and all the bad leechers get the good aaa games... well, the person who did the GA decided to set up the GA without a level or with low level...

The System is fine like it is. There are a lot of people that like to give away games and don't care if the people didn't gave away a lot of games before. There are still people that can't give away that much and even 2€ for a bundle is a lot of money in other regions.

Rather than turn the site into a circlejerk like the OP, I'd rather see people with nonactivated games being barred from giveaway entries until they fix them. Not suspended, but just barred from entering. They'll be able to see all the cool giveaways, but the Enter Giveaway button will be missing :3
