That's only one SSD company. I'm pretty sure they're a bit biased...

If you're dropping your OS on an SSD you want it to be reliable. Crucial is known to be one of the most reliable brands and good for the price.

You're most likely right, haven't exactly researched SSDs in awhile and I'm a tad drunk. Hm, welp I hope M4's are still reknowned for their reliablility. Haven't had a problem with mine(yet), hope it stays that way...yeah..I'm curious what these cheaper better drives are though. Think I got my 256gb for $200 few months ago, yea.

I'll use 128GB SSDs but you can ask any size really.
I'll list these in descending quality while still being cheaper than the M4. This is just a quick scan. Plextor M5S, Samsung 840, Sandisk Extreme, Kingston HyperX.

In terms of quality wise, you want Toggle NANDs, then Synchronous, then Asynchronous. My personal recommendations would the following: Plextor M5S/M5 Pro, 840 Pro, 830, then 840 (Toggle TLC rather than Toggle MLC), OCZ Vector, OCZ Vertex 4, then Crucial M4. For Toggle Sandforce, Sandisk Extreme or Mushkin Chronos Deluxe. After that, Intel 520, Kingston HyperX.

What article is that? Personally as an owner of serveral SSDs, I find them to be fine and they will last for several years even if you write 1 GB to them everyday. Personally, I think WD is just hating on them because it is taking away from their portion of the market.

I'm looking to buy a 64gb SSD for my PC to drop the OS and a few games on it. What do all the numbers and such mean? Also, what should I look for to find the one best suited for me?
