First - Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon on Nintendo 64. I never actually owned it. But about once a month we'd go down to the video rental store and I always rented this game for the night. Loved it.

Last - Dragon Quest XI. One of my favorite games of all time now.

My experience with gaming is not that much as I only got my pc last year. Before that I sometimes played on my relative's pc.
The first game I fell in love with was gta vice city. Now it's not that great of a game. But the only games well known in my country at that time were house of the dead, road rash, virtua cop 2, assassin creed, prince of persia, need for speed etc. Basically mostly old games. So option was really limited. I think gta vice city was the only game where I completely memorized the map. I played it so many times.
The last game I fell in love with is a recent one I bought which was Fallout New Vegas. It's actually my first fallout game.
I had quite a number of crashes but damn I love this game so much. When I first started it, I was playing so safe. I ran from some fire ants. Like that's how much of a low risk play through I had initially.
70 hours later I went from a courier to a demolition squad with Boone and ED-E. Literally nothing scared me except um.... deathclaws.
I also didn't expect that there were multiple endings. I expected like a good ending or bad ending but it was so much more. There were individual cutscenes for some of the major things player did. I loved the dead money dlc.
Even right now, I just want to start a new save with hardcore mode or at least a melee, unarmed build and try siding with a faction since in my first play through, I didn't side with anyone and killed House.

I honestly don't remember the first game I fell in love with. I play games since I was very little, started doing it around 1/2 (more watching than playing I reckon) with my dad.

There are a few games from those times that I remember beating a million times with my dad, but the two that really stick out are Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue and Marvel Ultimate Alliance (this one I was a bit older already). Loved spending hours upon hours upon hours playing those games. I must have completed them both 100% a few times.

Last game that made me truly fall in love with? Hm... First time I played Detroit: Become Human was in 2018 on the PS4. However, when I played it on PC again last year when it released on Steam, I fell in love with it all over again, seriously what a masterpiece.
If we do consider only games that I hadn't played before, then VA-11 Hall-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action, which I discovered in 2019. That's my favorite game of all time. Changed the way I saw some important things, helped through dark moments, and opened my head to decisions that weren't available to me beforehand. Can't really explain, it's just very special and endearing to me.

First: Bomberman NES
And then ever since: with Jazz, Blood, claw and plenty other classics.
Then the mid 2000s were really strong as well and even companies like EA where taking a risk with games like Mirrors age and Dead Space.
And then 2010 onward saw a lot more niche AAA and with the increase of popularity of digital stores such as steam we ended up getting more independant games.
Stuff like Demon Souls, Hotline Miami, Alan wake. deadly premonition, Dishonored, prey. All recent games that i loved to play

Definitely 1992 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist for Sega Genesis (Megadrive). So happy a new game is in the works!

The most recent game I truly enjoyed has been Horizon Zero Dawn, which I've won here.

So many great games to pick just two.
First: Alien VS Predator (arcade by Capcom) can't say I played that a lot but I was so hyped when playing It. Can't remember other game that make me felt like that, maybe MGS on PS1.
Last: TESV: Skyrim. I never played the other ones but It's one of the few games I played like 10 hours straight with small breaks on one weekend. This type of games by Bethesda are very addictive (Fallout 3 was another one that shocked me). New Vegas is still in the "to play list".

Its hard to point out the first (what do you mean by "love", where does it start, what differentiates it from others that you enjoyed or liked very much), as I have fond, fond memories of titles such as Half Life, Max Payne, Warcraft 3 (my heart bleeds for what Blizzard became these days), and many others of that relative era. Classics still shining like diamonds.
If we define "love" as "touching" games, the top contenders as first titles are Final Fantasy VIII and Homeworld.
The most recent love was... also hard to say. Maybe Control, although that was not "touching" per se, but provided me with unimaginable amounts of fun, and a unique, one of a kind atmosphere.
Its gotta be Without Within 3. Given the goofy, funny nature of the series, I totally did not prepare my heart for such a sneaky attack! TT__TT

Super Mario Bros.

from the 70's through the '90s games evolved very rapidly. You'd have a new type of game, where nothing like it had ever been done before, and whether or not you liked the genre, you took notice. (particularly when it created a whole new genre). I remember the first RTS (Dune 2, then C&C), the first FPS (Wolfenstein, then Doom), the first 4X (Civilization), the first fighting games (SF2 & MK) and they were all amazing - it was unbelievable something like that was even possible! - and you easily fell in love. Even up to the turn of the century, when you'd get the the first real stealth games (Thief/Hitman), the first whatever GTA was, the first choices matter, etc. etc.

Now, there's nothing new under the sun. the last game I recall that was truly groundbreaking was Minecraft, and even that's ancient by now.

So I get a new metroidvania, and I think, damn, this is a good game. Kinda reminds me of...
When I played Cities Skylines, it's like, yeah, this is what Sim City should have been.
Or, there's Humankind - how does it compare to Civilization?
Oh, another Total War - yay. what minor changes did they make this time?

So yeah, it's really hard to "fall in love" with a game, when they're only incrementally different from the last ones.
The last game I truly appreciated for not being able to easily compare to anything else, is Offworld Trading Company.

First: Soul Blazer on SNES. Love that game, especially the music, though it took me years to figure out the trick to beating the final boss and see the ending.
Last: Persona 4 on PS2. Never played golden because I really don't like the re-cast voice actor for Chie and she was one of my favorite characters in the original.

I think my first was Life is Strange. Not that there weren't any other good games, but the art style, the unique story made it stand out for me. About the last? Well, I finished Machinarium the other day, if you could take a hint.

First: Twin Bee. Something about the colors, the flying, and the cute graphics really hooked me in as a child.

Last: Marvel's Avengers. I've always been loosely following it, played the beta, thought it had rough optimization and stages felt hollow, lifeless, and dull, and then the free-to-try weekend a few weeks back really helped set my sights on it again and so I went and tried it once more and it was a smooth experience, put in a fair amount of hours into it and decided to buy it. Something about the core combat truly excites me, I don't know if it's the mixture of combos + perfectly timed dodges that reward the player with dramatic slow motion animation + parries + stylish vault over moves + going from defensive to offensive + weaving between close range melee to ranged but something about all of that stokes the fire within me and makes me feel like an Avenger. Such excellent combat <3, it might be the most satisfying combat in a game I've ever played, and that's what made me fall in love with it despite all the shortcomings this game has. I love that Iron Man has a mastery of weapon tech in the form of repulsors, lasers, and missiles, I love his stylish vault over move, his flying roll evade move and his flying rocket dive bomb move. I love that Widow has the snappy combat, the agility, mobility, and seamless switching between melee and transitioning into guns and ranged. I love that Cap's shield is a primary focus and a tool for both defensive, offensive, and ranged moves. I love that Thor feels like a god, with moves that hit like a truck. Combat is so strong, so addicting even 100+ hours into it now. I guess this is the definition of loving a game? Acknowledging that the game has its faults, but loving it anyway because the core is just fantastic.

This is a game that to me went from meh to somehow amazing.

My first was Disciples 2. I still download and play minimum 2 times a year. It was the best game for me. I wish they make new sagas for the game. But instead of that they made a really shitty 3rd game and killed the series for me.

Last was Divinity 2 Original Sin. It has the best turn based system I've ever seen. It's not a new game but I played it a year ago and I finished it 4 times ever since.
