I'd be interested in poking Witcher 3, but I never played Witcher 2 and I barely got out of the tutorial in Witcher 1 because the whole system just left me feeling bored and confused.
Is it worth trying to push through Witcher 1 and doing the full series from the start?

I'm currently playing all the witcher series from the first game. A few days ago I finished the first one ( playing the second one atm). The first game is very rough, quite clunky and a bit buggy. The main story and the atmosphere of the game are great. You also get introduced to the characters, the different places and cities, the monsters, lore etc. The monster hunting missions and some secondary quests get a bit tedious, you end up running a lot from point A to B just for a few coins. At chapter 3 I stopped doing the hunting missions and some secondary quests and I just focused on the main story.
In my opinion I think it's worth playing the first one, at least just for the story and the lore.You can also carry some stuff to the second game if you import your save.
