I'm thinking about buying a tablet and I think that an Android tablet would be the best choice for what I would do (Not a fan of Apple and their prices and don't think I would like a Windows tablet)... I'm not sure right now about a 7'' or 10'' screen right now.

So, with a budget of about 250$, or less, it would even be better :P . What is the best tablet if I just want to go on Youtube/Watch some movies/Internet/Play some games / (not big 3D games that need 1gb to download, more like platformers or popular games).

The tablet would need (preferably):

  • Be fluid while gaming
  • Be fast enough while browsing Internet
  • Have enough space (16GB or more) and if possible, a slot for an SD card
  • The resolution needs to be great (Since I plan to watch some movies/TV shows)

Thanks :)

Amazon Kindle Fire HDX meets all your requirements
its cheap
awesome specs
enough space
great display and resolution

only drawback is there is only the amazon app store and google play store is blocked, but that isnt a problem. You can sideload all apps from google play store, just get the apk from somewhere on the internet or from google store with your smartphone (backup programms can make an apk from installed apps for you) and install it then

I have it and I love it (you also can root it and block amazon OTA updates if needed)

Ok, thanks but I think I'll pass since it's only amazon app store and I don't really want to 'sideload' my apps :)..

Most mainstream apps are available in Amazon's app store too and side-loading is easy.

I think Nexus 7 2014 is superior to Kindle Fire just because of software.

I didn't have any problems with playing any android games so far.
Great for internet browsing.
There is 16GB and 32GB version.
Full HD screen.
Really comfortable to hold with 1 hand (big plus when you are reading in public transport ^^)

I've been looking for this tablet and it looks really great. Is there any bad thing about it that I should know if I decide to take this one? :P .... And if it is comfortable to hold with 1 hand, it's even better :P ... I'm usually taking the public transport so don't want something too big :)

I had one, took amazing care of it, and one day I barely tapped the screen and the screen just shattered, and I'm not the only one who has had the screen shatter with almost no force.

I think it's probably the best you can get within your budget. I suggest you go with the 32Gb version if you plan on gaming a lot on it as some of those games can be huge.

I have gone through many tablets over the years and have bought some rather bad ones, those being ones that had custom OEM firmware and could not be jailbroken. I would recommend one but I break them all so easy (cracked screens being main issue), so they all suck. I would just recommend doing enough research if and when you do find one that makes the longevity of it more worthwhile. And ones with that special glass that is hard to shatter. Also ones that can be repaired rather cheap, i.e. parts from eBay, Amazon, etc.

My kids have two of the Kindle Fire HD's and they are ok. I don't use them because they are locked to an Amazon account and their specific version of Android they install. Which isn't really an issue, I just like using Android as it was meant to be used and not how Amazon wants you to use it.
