Should we all buy stuff for lukasz18dg?
By not taking part, I meant not making a giveaway myself :P
(Although I did not enter, I don't enter giveaways if I am more inclined towards not liking the game... Wouldn't know for sure till I play but it's not worth it, what if I win the giveaway? It would be a waste.. I would surely play it.. but still)

Abstain from entering and join me along the sidelines as we partake in the joy of knowing we allowed other users to win in our place.

Not sure if it does since he isn't accusing someone of doing anything wrong. Just pointing to a thread and decided to make some gibs from someone's wishlist.

Oh you!
Thanks for the gibs, highly appreciated lol!

Instead of taking his chances on random junk he doesn't really want, why don't we make sure he can find all the best games, in one convenient location?
why random junk? he was suggesting something you obviously don't like - nobody here likes auto-join stuff. but unless i overlooked it somehow, he never said anything about entering for random stuff he doesn't even want. quite the opposite, he was talking about a piggy bank and auto-join feature for his wishlist. so he intends to enter for games he wants, which should be fine, right?
other than his horrible ratio, i don't see why you would make fun of him like this. ^^

Ahhhh, so that's what he wants? I was trying to figure it out, but it sounded like he was asking for some way to "buy" giveaways for his wishlist games with ad revenue, and then auto-enter them...
But looking at the games he's won so far, I'm having a hard time believing those were all wishlisted... :)
Oh, I'm not trying to make fun, well, ok, maybe just a little... Just one giveaway, one cheap bundle leftover/free thing that's somehow still on the giveaway list/whatever and he can try for a bunch of games that actually are on his wishlist, without having to hunt around for them... :)

and in addition to that i want to say - is it really necessary to call him out like this? yes, he is a leecher. he was here for 3 years and didn't give away a single game. so he does what the majority of SG users does. they enter a lot, but give nothing and post nothing on the forum. so now we have one here, who finally starts being active on the forum. with a suggestion you don't like. but he made a thread. so in a way he is already more active than his 700.000+ leecher buddies. maybe this could have been the start of something. maybe he would have contributed more to the forum, and maybe he would have started to give away a few games himself. but you call him out on his ratio and make fun of him, which probably results in him being blacklisted a lot and scared away. sorry, but i'm not sure this is the right way. :)
EDIT: ok, i just saw the motivational thing you did with the giveaways (level 1, lol). so maybe i saw a little more hostility here than there really is, and overreacted a little. still, i find posting his ratio kind of unnecessary. will just make it so that he ends up on like a hundred blacklists. ^^

Ahh, since you obviously thought about this, hmm...
Yes, I see what you mean, I hope he doesn't think I'm trying to be mean and chase him away... :(
I entered a thousand giveaways before I won anything, didn't care what random game I was trying to win, didn't say anything, just spent all the points I could find, then spend some more the next day, etc... Wasn't sure this place was legit at all... Just wanted to get some free stuff, whatever it might be... Hooray, free stuff! :)
So I think I can understand how a person might be hungry for free games, and not too particular about what games they are, or how they were paid for, and so on... :) Aside from the people who were here at the very beginning perhaps, I think most people joined Steamgifts because someone told them about this website where you could get free games... Nobody tells their friend about this website where you can give free games... :)
And surprise, it was legit... :) Not some referral scam to secretly get free games for your friend, but actual free games for you, given away by complete strangers, for no reason at all. :)
Unless they can't read a lick of English, anyone who's actually won a game here should be able to see how this place works... :)
So, yes, I'm trying a little encouragement... Hey, random person who won a lot of games, you know Steamgifts is not a scam now... :) Maybe you can sell some trading cards, or something... :) Or trade them for some bundle leftovers... :)
I think it's more fun to give away cheap bundle stuff than to win them, anyway... :) You don't have to feel bad for winning some random junk you didn't even want to play, or pretend to be grateful when some guy gives away his favourite game but you were just banking points and forgot about it... :)
Aaaaaanyway, if he's reading this, hey, don't take all this nonsense seriously! :) Life is too short too care about what a bunch of random internet jerks think anyway! :) If you don't want to give away anything, don't. :) But if you do want to give away something, here's a bunch of giveaways from your wishlist, good luck! :)

Bump for all these junks. Man lukasz18dg is a lucky guy. Should whitelisted rightaway!!!
Bump for piggy too!

Ahh, sorry, actually your giveaway was what gave me the idea... :( Not trying to be a big jerk, really... :(
If he reads this thread, I hope it doesn't make him feel bad... :( Hey, don't feel bad, if you're reading this! Don't worry about it, do whatever you think best! And if you want to give away something, try for these wishlist games! But they are all cheap junk, because I'm cheap too... :) Sorry! :)

Don't get me wrong, fact that you spent any amount of money for those gibs is a good thing and though i didn't and probably won't enter them, i appreciate it. I just see it as calling out a user and though i see now that you mean well, it will probably be consequential for this person.
To be honest, when i made the ga in his thread i wasn't thinking about the fact that he could very easily make himself eligible, i was going to make the gib anyway. I just thought it was the perfect time and place for it. I guess you could say i was trying to troll him.
I really think you took it too far though, as was already mentioned, he is probably on a heck of a lot of blacklists now and maybe even scared away from the site. You could have just as easily posted the gibs in that thread instead of drawing unnecessary attention to all those involved. But thats just my opinion, what do I know anyways? I'm just here for the games!

Well, you aren't the first person to mention it, and after reading some more I can see the point... :(
I didn't want to get him on any blacklists, just encourage him to give back a little, in some small way, if he can... And if he can't, there's still a "Level 0" Dark Souls giveaway to try for... I'd be happy to give him some of my bundle leftovers to make a giveaway if he can't afford to give a single thing... :( Anyway, I'll probably get on everyone's blacklist for teasing... :)

Think you're going a bit far with making fun of people here... even if the majority agrees his suggestion was bad, there is nothing that justifies you marking him as a person 'complaining about not having enough points'. There is nothing in his original thread that suggests anything of the sort, and you are dangerously close to calling out.

I suggested the idea, because sometimes they are Humble Bundle, and then a large amount of competitions (Thank creators) and sometimes no points to join. And for some time, I have nothing to "spend" points.
If I understand that correctly, he's saying that sometimes, for example during a Humble Bundle, there are so many giveaways for his wishlisted games that he runs out of points, and can't enter all of them. And other times he has a lot of points, but can't find any giveaways he would like to enter. So somehow, with ad revenue, he turns his surplus points into giveaways for his wishlisted games? I'm not clear on the last part, unfortunately. :(
Umm, calling out for what? Hey, this person had an idea! And I disagreed with it! With giveaways! From his wishlist! That he could enter! If he just gives one game! :)
Well, I see what you mean, I don't want him to feel bad... :(
I'm fortunate to be able to afford the games I want today (and even a bunch of games I don't want)... And not everyone else is that fortunate... If you can't afford to give one game in three years, don't worry about it... I remember saving up for months to buy a game to play at my grandparents' house, because my family couldn't afford a computer... So, hmm, it might sound like I'm just teasing this guy who didn't give anything yet, but I just want to say hey, if you can afford it, maybe make a giveaway some time, it's fun! :) But if you can't, don't worry about it! Try for the Dark Souls giveaway instead! It's level 0! :)

This is not ok, man. You're going a bit too far with this, publicly humiliating someone. That person did nothing wrong to you.
I always saw you as a really mean-spirited, cynical and toxic person (and adding :) at the end of every sentence never fooled me) but this is just way over the line. I don't understand people who derive happiness by making others feel bad.
Shame on you.
Topics like these are making me never come back to this place again.

Ok, I've seen enough messages from people, and reading through everything this does all sound very mean. :( I'll probably have to close this topic, and put a link to the Dark Souls giveaway in the descriptions, just in case he reads them...
Well, I'm not trying to make that person feel bad, but it sounded friendlier in my head than on the page... :( I read a suggestion about ad revenue or points for giveaways, didn't quite understand the details, and just wanted them to maybe consider giving something back, just any cheap garbage, after years of getting free stuff... :(
Oh, you're right about that, I've never claimed to be friendly or helpful or generous, I'm a big troll, a jerk, a meanie, you name it. :) This place is full of people giving away games for no reason at all, but I'm always teasing someone in my giveaways... Maybe myself, maybe thanksbotters, maybe the people who made such a crap game, but the joke's on me since I paid for it...
People entering giveaways with a script, I won't even pretend to feel bad if I can chase one of them away from here... :) But I definitely don't want to chase away nice people like you... :( So tell you what, you stay, and I'll leave. :) Then we can both be happy... :)

It is your topic and you are free to do with it as you please, don't let my opinion influence you. Sometimes I'm just too sensitive for my own good :P (I was actually telling someone not so long ago how I prefer to avoid opening your giveaways and topics since most of the time comments that you leave make me feel unwell). But when I engage with others, like an exchange of opinions or something, I always try to put myself in their shoes, how will what I say make them feel and can I get my point across in a civilized manner.
I don't know much about the person you were calling out (in fact, I even forgot their name by now since you edited the topic) but I like to imagine some innocent kid who maybe still doesn't understand the premise of this place and that's where his confusion comes from. I mean, if I'm going to make assumptions might as well try not to assume the worst in people I see.
I've been on Steamgifts for 4 years already (close to 5 now) way before CV, ratio, levels, group giveaways and whatnot. Community changed and grew over time (still does) and I'm not going to dispute that things like thank you scripts, CV farming and entering for games just to get that precious +1 are not with us but I also see a place that was spawned with an idea to make others feel happy by rewarding them with a game they can't afford or a game they didn't knew much about but not it will make their day - if not month significantly better (at least, that was my case when I won Fallout New Vegas here long time ago). A place when someone is ok with dedicating a lot of his own free time just to make Halloween avatars for everyone else, where developers engage with the community, where a lot of people started first before getting their game on Steam, place where you can have fun, meet some new friends and learn something new. So in the end, the question is, which one of those are you more focused on? Is SG actually a terrible place where people only look out for themselves and has it always been like this? Maybe it is not the matter of whatever prevails more, but ask yourself which of those two resonate with you better and what can you do to fix that inside you. If you want, that is. This is not only inclusive to SG, you will perceive all of the life based on what you focus on more, same could be said for all the people you'll come in contact with (although I'm sure you had more than enough life experience by now to understand that for yourself).
Everyone has their own definiton of happiness and what drives them forward, just try not to make your own from looking down on people and assuming the worst. I'm not going to say that you will live longer if you choose otherwise, but you will certainly have more fun, I can tell you that much.

Ah, I appreciate your taking the time to write, most of the time I think people just shake their head and walk away... Your explanation makes sense to me. All day long yesterday I'm wondering about this... Is this the sort of place I would want to visit? No... :(
Friends joking around with each-other often say things that sound mean to other people, but if I'm saying the same thing to a complete stranger it doesn't just sound mean. :(
Anyway, I should have replied sooner, but it's time for work. Might try more later, might forget though... So have one more smiley for the road... :)
p.s. I'm probably never going to stop being cynical, but we'll see about the mean-spirited and toxic... Thank you!

Agree with you, if someone don't have points to enter the GA he want, why not just manage better his points?
You can enter only for the games you really want or maybe remove th eentry for some games to have your points back.
Also, thanks for the GA's (already got all games (>.<) and have nice day!

Ahh, reading [redacted] I was struck by the injustice of it all...
Here's a fine upstanding member of the community, bravely sacrificing his points to enter our giveaways, and yet... Somehow, not having enough points to enter all of them... :(
What is to be done?
Well, after careful consideration, I found the solution! Instead of taking his chances on random junk he doesn't really want, why don't we make sure he can find all the best games, in one convenient location?
junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk junk
junk? junk? junk?
Oh, and one bonus private giveaway for a game that's not on his wishlist, in case anyone's bothered to read this far...
not junk
Bonus from rclbob: some more junk. Thank you! :)
Bonus from:Ceebers more junk. Thank you! :)
