Can the gifter set conditions in their giveaways?
For example, "You must follow me on Twitter to get the giveaway". So in case you didn't follow him previously, but you end winning, does he have the rights to reroll?

I can't find anything related to this; but i would find this a bit rude and out of context of what Steamgifts is.
However, i think it's ok just to say, "If you want, you can follow me on Twitter, but it's not mandatory".
I think we have the tools to set the limits within our giveaways, but those tools are given by the system (number of giveaways, groups, private, etc) not from our personal tastes, promotional stuff, etc.

I'm asking this because i found a giveaway with that kind of conditions, to report it or not.

Have a nice day :)

It's ok if it's a private giveaway and the "conditions" have been approved by support. Otherwise, no.

You can set conditions only on private GA and only if previously approved by support.

You can also set them on group GAs

Thanks for the info!
I saw it's a public one. So should i report it then?

If the giveaway maker is only asking for someone to do something,no. If he explicitly wrote "do X or I'll re-roll" then you probably should write to support.

No, you don't have to. If someone wants to re-roll, they have to tell support why. As soon as they say "because I wanted them to follow me on twitter", support will laugh at them and say no, give the gift.

Or just ignore the terms and enter. Support won't re-roll anyway. Reporting would be a bit of a dick move.

Support already has a lot of other more important stuff to deal with.

Why cause more ticket backlog for support? It's not a huge problem and it's not like the reroll request will succeed anyways.

if it's a private ga, he can have special rule, but for public give away, the only rule that can be mentionned with out a adminis the one who say that if the winner alredy have a game from the bundle, he cant enter(exemple, bioshock triple pack, you cant enter if you have one of the game)

if he dont say that you cant have a game, even if you win and you have 2 game of the 3, you still win

wrong, for multi game bundles we don't have to say anything, its just nice to do so for those entering

blacklists on the other hand have to be up at the start to be allowed

also special rules for any GA have to be approved by support, group or private(only smaller groups allowed for this)

As Carenard said, for bundles no matter if it's public or private, you don't need to say anything about owning x number of titles. If the winner owns even one game in the pack, the maker can reroll.

Please read the FAQ at your earliest opportunity. The answer to your question (and many others) is clearly stated there.

  • Extraneous/special rules for giveaways require moderator approval. Public giveaways cannot have any special rules. Would you like to know more?
