I see The Midnight was already mentioned but I'm still posting a song from them because your first example immediately reminded me of the song. :D I'm not well versed at all in musical genres so not sure how far off I ended with these but take the bump anyway.
Alan Walker - Darkside
Cocoon - The Road
Hilzu - Demon Lord
Ikson - Alive
The Midnight - Land Locked Heart

Not the style i ever jammed to- but i love when people make threads like this because i may end up liking it, or one of the similars recommended. Ive just played the start of some songs and i already know i will be exploring this thread later when i have the time.
Thanks for the GAs and the nice thread!

Buddy, the beginning of 'Dog Day - Start It Up' reminded me so much of Gloria - The Lumineers. Listen/Watch the whole playlist from the album III, it's freaking beautiful.

Oh shit this is right up my alley, I can't not comply haha. Indie rock is by far my fave genre, especially summer tunes. I like several from Fazerdaze as well. :) I'll list some popular ones from my playlist for you that I feel are particularly summer-y, shotgun style lol.
Royel Otis - Oyster's in my Pocket
The Walters - I Love You So
^ I'd recommend this channel a million times over to any indie rock fan, especially if you love music videos and wavy beats. They compile so many good tracks and make the most wonderful edits for them with old movies, including one for a Fazerdaze track. Discovered so many thanks to them. :)
Vansire - Nice To See You (feat. Floor Cry)
^ Very summer evening for me
The War on Drugs - An Ocean In Between The Waves
Peach Pit - Tommy's Party
^ Last but not least my fave indie rock band

Since you liked Easier Said, you might like this. Another female vocalist and the arpeggiated outro sounds similar to the Sunflower Beam song.
The band themselves certainly fit your vibe of light shoegaze. Another one from them with summer-themed lyrics:
Also second the Alvvays, Asobi Seksu and No Vacation recommendations. Think I could find some great music from this thread, too!

for when you need to scratch that classic rock itch ;)

Well, I want to discover new music in a very specific and at the same time quite broad range. I'm looking for indie rock or dream pop that has a distinctly "summer" sound with wavy melodies; this kind of music can be reminiscent of light shoegaze or summer post-punk, but not necessarily. At the moment, it has become quite difficult for me to find new similar bands and songs, because indie rock is a VERY general concept, and the recommendations of available streaming services are already spinning the same thing in circles. So I hope you can recommend something.
Below I will leave examples of songs similar to what I am looking for. Thanks for your attention, here are a couple of giveaways.
I'm looking for something similar:
Fine China - Not Thrilled
Sunflower Bean - Easier Said
Dog Day - Start It Up
Fanclub - Swear
Fazerdaze - Little Uneasy
Penelope Isles - Chlorine
Spirits of Leo - Where You Stand
