i have been thinking to buy that game. but when i saw it runs with the unity engine i wasnt so sure anymore. i got myself wastelands2 (also unity)shortly after release and the loading times were far to long for the, lets say, adequate graphics. still a good game but that stopped me from playing it again.

my rig
I5 4690k
8 GB RAM
R9 270X
crucial ssd

So my question are: How long are the loading times?
And were the long loading times in wastelands more aproblem with the engine in general or more with the game itself?

Hi Candorius

I haven`t had loading times issues on this spec:

i7 4790k
8GB RAM
GTX 770
A-DATA SSD (dedicated for OS, so i have Pillars installed on a SATA3 HDD)

I think you should be fine as your specs are ideal for gaming, although i havent played Wastelands 2 yet, so i cant weigh in on that.

thanks for the answer. so i guess my specs should be good enough to run without big waiting times. are the graphics as good as seen in screenshots and gameplayvids?

The graphic aesthetic is great, it retains that old school feel while also seeming up to date with current times, though some people also reported a few graphical issues, all of which will be ironed out in time, no doubt. What might put you off is the Kickstarter backers exclusive achievement. I really hope they take it out. Its an impressive game, i love the crap out of it. You could always try a warez copy just to see if youre satisfied with how it runs and then buy it .

PoE is supposed to run really well on pretty low spec PCs so you should be more than fine!

well same was with wastelands 2 the game ran fine on max. just the loading times took far to long (regardless if low or high settings)
and i thought that it maybe the engine but i just saw that shadowrun is also unity and that had no problems on my rig. i just take a guessand say that wastelands2 just didnt like my ssd.

I don't have SSD installed, but I have 3 HDD's combined into RAID 0, and I cannot complain about loading times, few seconds and it's fully loaded. Same with Wasteland.

If you liked BG I, II, Torment, then PoE is MUST HAVE!

Cheers!
