Why would valve be in trouble?
It simply means people are going to be purchasing all games on Steam and know that they can double dip and get the GOG version as well. It will simply mean no one will purchase games from GOG as they can get them free if they get the Steam version.

It does not really hurt valve is people don't play the games as long as they purchase from them.
This wont affect that. Now if it was the other way around and people could play games on steam purchased from GOG, that would annoy them a little bit.

That is sorta the point, if you can swap your library to better shop, and get all future games you want there, you wont buy from older one.
But if your library is tied up with steam, and most games require steam you have little choice - you have no choice but to give valve money i you want those games.

A nice feature even if most of the time it's Indie games that offer this, too bad I don't have the first Torchlight to add was hoping maybe it would go on sale on Steam no such luck.

Took seconds for me to get the game, but I added my Steam account right at the start of Connect.

Several times tried to get Torchlight II from 3k+ games collection, and it still hasn't. It does say:
Looking for eligible games. Due to exceedingly high demand this may take up to several days, please check back later. Thank you for your patience.
So who knows if it will even work before time is up.

Try to log out then clear your cookies and log back in and try again. Hit refresh several times and you should get it. There's no harm in giving this a try. Good luck!

You made me curious. If you don't mind sharing - why don't you want Steam on your Linux system? I'm asking, because I plan on moving to Linux in the indeterminate future and you now have me wondering whether it's some privacy issue I haven't heard about, dependency on some libraries or something else. Totally cool, if you don't feel like saying your reasons.

That's actually a pretty good question. It's mostly privacy concerns. Steam collects way too much data in general. Even on Windows I block it with a firewall to prevent it from leaking too much data (like how often I play, when, my game progress or even the content of my harddisk) except when installing updates or new stuff. However, I basically use Windows only for games, all my important things like personal documents, photos, work stuff and so forth is stored on my main operating system, which is Linux. While it probably would be possible to set up a Steam client on an extra system user account to make sure it cannot access any of my data, I still prefer to keep things completely separated. I guess it's just a matter of preference. I admit, if I were absolutely consequent, I probably shouldn't be installing commercial software on my Linux system at all ... with or without steam client, but hey, GOG seems trustworthy to me.

Thanks for the updated information, Inakicm!
Oddly enough, GOG Connect seems to not be correctly detecting "The Walking Dead: Season 1".
EDIT: A new refresh attempt yielded results. It now found the game and added it.

It cannot detect one of my game.
The Walking Dead: Michonne - A Telltale Miniseries
EDIT: found it after refresh.

There is a "Refresh" button below your account names (where it shows your GOG and Steam names). It will scan your Steam account again, in search of the missing games.

It has been telling me that since Torchlight 1 and 2 were available 2 weeks ago. I have no idea what the hell is wrong with it.
Edit: sent them a ticket, lets see what they answer

Try exiting GOG and opening up add again. It will automatically update when you do that.

I tried that before and it didn't work. The support just answered me back. They disconnected my Steam account so I could reconnect it again and it worked like a charm. I instantly got 8 games. And it only took them half an hour to get back to me, I am impressed.

Best of luck, I hope it is going to be an easy and fast fix for you too :)

Hmm...I was able to add it after clicking "REFRESH" on the top / right (where your account is linked). But I guess you have already tried that? xD

This is huge news:
Introducing GOG Connect
GOG Connect
Important: You can connect only one Steam account with your GOG.com library. This process is permanent – choose wisely!
Important 2: If you own some of the games and Connect doesn't recognize them, press the Refresh button and wait a while (can be a few minutes, hours or even a day). The reason for this is that GOG is using the Steam API to scan your Steam library and the API has a limit on the number of calls it can make for a given period of time. If you're still having problems, refresh your GOG account (simply clicking the link is enough; this is different that the Refresh button on the GOG Connect page!).
Important 3: In case you are still getting the message "Due to exceedingly high demand this may take up to several days, please check back later. Thank you for your patience." after waiting a while and trying the account refresh link above, then it would be a good idea to contact GOG support. Many users have reported that their problem was fixed quickly after that.
I really hope more games are made available, because this could raise GOG's popularity significantly!
Edit on 29-April-2020:
Thanks to BrianFarnet: The GOG Connect Steam group is a useful way to get notified about future batches in your activity feed.
