Nice!
Several days to process though? Don't think I've ever seen any site ever estimate that something would take so long. Good things come to those who wait, I suppose.

So it finally connected and said I have 11 games I can add to my account. I clicked "add games" and now looks like the process is done but nothing was added to my library. When I click connect again it says "ACCOUNTS CONNECTED
Looking for eligible games. Due to exceedingly high demand this may take up to several days, please check back later. Thank you for your patience." and under available games I have nothing.
What's that about?

Same just happened to me. Left it running overnight, it found 16 and nothing happened when trying to add them.

I assume you don't actually have to keep a window or tab open to that page, and can just come back later to see the results, right?

When GOG says that the connection process may take up to several days, they wasnt kidding

The witcher games go without saying considering GOG owns some of the development company behind them.

Me as well. Annoying. Hopefully fixed soon, because like Druss mentioned below, we can't try again, there isn't a way to resubmit this stuff. Hope I don't miss the first lot because of an error.
To be fair though, they likely never had to deal with so many people as right now, wanting all this free stuff. :P

I bet that's the case, they are probably suffering the classic flood of steam users that any site goes through when something is "free".
I got to see the games that were elegible from my account, and I'm mainly interested in Saints Row 2 since I know the steam version is a mess and I read somewhere that the DRM-free one that GOG has actually works.
I'm grateful that they do this for us for free, but anybody with a little bit of experience using steam could have predicted that this was going to happen.

Yup - I'm getting the "OOPS, SOMETHING WENT WRONG. Please try again." message too - but there seems to be no active API allowing you to do so.
I contacted GoG about it and received the following response:
Hello,
We apologize if you're experiencing issues regarding GOG Connect. This is a newly-implemented feature, and we are currently working on fixing some issues:
1) Not all Steam games are recognized - please try connecting your Steam account again. If this doesn't work, please try again later.
2) Connecting accounts failed ("oops, something went wrong" - please try again later, as the server load might be too big currently. Also, make sure that your Steam account is Public.
For any other issues, we still would suggest trying again on Friday, to give us some time to work on fixes.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused, and appreciate your understanding.
If this did not help, or you have a different issue that wasn't listed above, please reply to this email and let us know.
Kind regards,
GOG.com Support
Which is all well and good - but does not address it he problem that once you see the "OOPS, SOMETHING WENT WRONG. Please try again." message, THERE IS NO WAY TO RESUBMIT the information/steam login. (As yet)
Hopefully it is rectified before they remove the games.
My current understanding of it, is that they will honour certain games FOR A LIMITED TIME, then those games are removed from the list and new ones added FOR A LIMITED TIME - all based on whatever agreements they can make with publishers.
Personally, though my steam library is large (850+), I'd actually prefer GoG - the actual right of ownership vs right to play has been becoming more of an issue lately - being able to download DRM free based games and store them so they can be accessed however many years into the future is a great incentive - My kids could play them when they get older - recently I let my 6 year old play doom 2 for the first time with IDDQD enabled. It kept him going for 2 hours - I had to send him to bed to get my PC back!
With GoG it would allow them to play it again years from now, even if I pass away - With steam, if I had a heart attack, or died in a car crash - Steam gets to repossess all my keys and sell them again - leaving my kids with nothing.
I much preferred owning physical copies of my games, since I've been collecting for about 25 years, but admit the steam platform allows easier access - being able to D/L them anywhere - GoG is a compromise between the two giving me access, but also allowing my kids to use them later as DRM free D/Ls.
EDIT
Finally connected - added 10 games to my GoG library.
Nice.

Well, this version crashed on startup too unfortunatly. I havn't tried any of the "fixes" yet though like I did with the steam version.
I hope you have better luck :)
//edit: It worked with my onboard intel gfx card, but crashes with the nvidia gtx card

No I don't.
But I got it to work now though. It worked when I ran it with the onboard intel HD gfx card. It crashes with the nvdia GTX card.
Unfortunatly it doesn't run as smooth as it should. But at least it runs :P So maybe it's a driver or scaling issue.

Tremorgames has Breach and Clear steam for 495 coins and Saints Row 2 for 295 coins (that can be 1 or 2 surveys really depending on where you live)
If you use connect it can give you a GOG copy too. Most of the other connect games are out of stock.
So two for the price of 1. :)

I rarely buy on GOG myself. Bought some games but most were free or bundled. Have to spend really money there, after all.

I used to buy them there but stopped. Figured most of them come to Steam and often with achievements which I love so...

I just reloaded page every 20-30 minutes and once in a while available games would show and it would say how many games I can add to my account and a green button saying "add games" would be present on the right. Then I would click the button and it went through the 4th time I think. So just keep refreshing the page every now and then and click "add games" button when it appears. Will go through eventually.

Finally worked for me, and it actually added them this time.

This is huge news:
Introducing GOG Connect
GOG Connect
Important: You can connect only one Steam account with your GOG.com library. This process is permanent – choose wisely!
Important 2: If you own some of the games and Connect doesn't recognize them, press the Refresh button and wait a while (can be a few minutes, hours or even a day). The reason for this is that GOG is using the Steam API to scan your Steam library and the API has a limit on the number of calls it can make for a given period of time. If you're still having problems, refresh your GOG account (simply clicking the link is enough; this is different that the Refresh button on the GOG Connect page!).
Important 3: In case you are still getting the message "Due to exceedingly high demand this may take up to several days, please check back later. Thank you for your patience." after waiting a while and trying the account refresh link above, then it would be a good idea to contact GOG support. Many users have reported that their problem was fixed quickly after that.
I really hope more games are made available, because this could raise GOG's popularity significantly!
Edit on 29-April-2020:
Thanks to BrianFarnet: The GOG Connect Steam group is a useful way to get notified about future batches in your activity feed.
