Can your phone run pokemongo?

You can say you don't want to use the app because you don't want to, but to say it's because of spying is redundant, I mean shit, if you have a paypal/debit/credit card/rewards program or card you're being spied upon bro.

I love when people tell me trying to protect my privacy is useless, not knowing anything about my life ;) I do use some of those programs and services, but focus on isolation, opsec, and mitigating the damage. For example, I do use Win 7 and Steam on a box dedicated to gaming, linux for everything else. And I'd go as far as to say that XP and below are likely backdoored also.
It's not my main browser (I prefer Pale Moon), but Firefox settings can be modified to leak less data; The privacy settings extension works well for this. Also use VPN and other privacy extensions such as uMatrix, uBlock, Self Destructing Cookies, EncryptedWeb, Decentraleyes, Noscript. Iridium Browser is a good alternative to Chrome without the google spying.
I do have a cell phone, credit card, paypal..but of course I assume all of those are monitored and behave accordingly. Of course there's no way to remain anonymous and use technology, but it is possible limit the information data brokers can collect on you. And having Google Play services installed pretty much means they have access to all the data on your smartphone.

Just this & they also blocked my account for playing during a train ride through germany at the time when they banned those bot farmers. Whatever... More time for Steam games ;-)

The worst you would incur for fast traveling (such as a moving train) is a mis-triggered soft ban, which only lasts for 30 minutes.

Well, I got banned without running any external software (and received a specific email about it from them). They also never replied to my support ticket. That train ride would have been the only possible cause and appeared one day after the second ride (back home)

Same. When I do think about playing it on the bus home from work, I glance at my battery life and decide against doing so. :P

Same, I am going to play Sun/Moon as soon as my younger sister finishes it, but I don't think I am going back to Pokemon Go any time soon

I was, but the app is showing some difficulties finding my location, in the past 2 days, for whatever reason

Idk...i have a P9, which is sort of decent and very accurate and this never happened before.
Which sucks, i get a pokestop in my house and sometimes in the university, but my location is considerably far from the one shown

I have a friend we started calling "windows phone" at college.

Honestly I just really love the Nokia phone I have, it has a gorgeous camera and everything just syncs automatically with my computer and xbox.

Same here. Installed it once, took a look around my area, promptly uninstalled.

I played it for a little while, but got bored. I'll probably jump back on it after they update it some and add some of the more anticipated features like trading. :)

I've got a dumb-phone, so no internet c:
And I'm not gonna run around my neighborhood holding my ipad, because I'd look silly.

I'm playing it. It's not a huge priority but I do things here and there. I can easily forget it for a day or two, especially because there isn't much around me.

Once everyone started cheating it became pointless

Yep, still having a blast here! Naturally, active users have declined as the initial hype has worn off, but it's still the most played mobile game by a wide margin.
Your local map and community are two huge elements, there should be some Facebook groups in your area to help centralize your community. I've got a wicked dense map and a super active PoGo community here. My local Mystic group is planning another big meetup soon. Last week there was a PoGo event at a huge park, constant lures and free 3D printed pokemon for everyone.
I certainly haven't been actively playing as much as that first month, but I still play at least a little bit every day. It's still my favorite motivator to explore the outdoors.

I'm glad to hear your community is so involved! Sadly, in here, the app hit the expected boom and faded away a week after that. I still see some lures every once in a while but other than that I suppose only lurkers like me play the game.

Yeah, I really feel for the more rural folks who have fuck-all on their map or non-existent community. I really lucked out, as I had just moved here about a month before the game was released. Some days I will just wake up and say, "fuck it, Pokemon day." And proceed to wander about the whole city, letting the lures guide my way. Downtown there are countless bars/restaurants in a sea of lured pokestops. Drunkemon is probably my favorite way to play.

Fully on the Go still too. My kids love it, and it's a great reason to go for walks in different places. I didn't get involved with any groups, but there are a few in my area, and I see them from time to time killing a gym or luring a stop..

My town's too small so I just play it when I travel. The battling mechanics really suck the big one though, and omitting trading from a Pokemon game is unforgivable.

"Omitting" is a bit of a misnomer, it simply wasn't in the initial release. Trading has always been a part of the gameplan; it's a pillar of Pokemon in general.

Wow, a late bloomer. You're pretty lucky: bug fixes + more features + stable servers.

I am curious as it has been around three months since launch (two where I live), and there weren't exactly game changing updates that would keep regular users playing. I still have it open when I go outside but I don't check up on it other than to keep the screen on, and I stopped going outside specifically to catch rare pokemons or hatch eggs.
